The Good Dinosaur (2015)

Well, Pixar finally did it.

They finally made a movie that I did not like.

From the very first scene, something was off for me.

They Dinosaur as pioneer in new frontiers (farmer, herders etc). This is an amazingly difficult concept to accept!!!

Uninspiring characters.

Clunky storyline...

The only thing that works in the movie is the CGI, but that cannot save the movie.

Really?  This is a Pixar movie....

One word.

Disappointed.

My Two Sen.

really? i didn't like Brave & Cars too.

but then occasionally we'd get something from Pixar like Inside Out that just blows our minds notworthy.gif

i didnt like brave, but really didnt like good dinosaur (except the roaring part with the t-rex). toy story for the win! also really loved wall-e.

i just didn't like the dinosaur designs in that movie.

as for Cars, i just find the idea that cars talk to each other disturbing. i'm fine with toys though. laugh.gif

KITT is fine. he's just a computer with a sexy Corvette body. laugh.gif

i have problems when they put eyes on the windscreen and mouths on the grille and there's doors on the cars but no humans? sweat.gif

that is true i suppose... like... why would they be cars? hahahah. you've opened my eyes.

with Brave i felt that the trailer lied to me when the movie was in fact "How to reverse back my mommy back to human form" instead of an adventure story about Merida proving everyone wrong (something like a Studio Ghibli story). sweat.gif

just try watching this japanese trailer and you'll know what i mean biggrin.gif

I kinda like Brave and tolerate Cars (I put this as second worst Pixar animation, Good Dinosaur being the first worst)

I think the "American Frontier" thingie did the Good Dinosaur in.

I am really surprise for a company that has a log track record of strong story telling, they actually thought this storyline wold sell!!

What they heck were they thinking.

Just hope it does not have a ripple effect and they go into panic mode and start second guessing themselves and produce EVEN more crap...

not everyone's perfect i guess.

btw have you seen the Finding Dory trailer? while i love the first one i'm having this "straight to DVD" vibe from the sequel. sweat.gif

i watched the Hitman's Bodyguard last night. it was funny watching Ryan Reynolds & Sam L Jackson together but i do wished they kinda tone down the language a little bit.

Ryan's character even pointed out that Sam's character single-handedly ruined the word "motherfucker". i kinda agree with him. at some point Sam's character even annoyed me! doh.gif

felt it was wasted opportunity for Gary Oldman, Salma Hayek and Elodie Yung as they could have casted nobodies and it wouldn't change the movie.

i thought the action sequence in Amsterdam was fantastic though. i give this one a 6/10.

Agree.

This movie is overly packed with stars that it looks wasted, esp gary oldman and elodie yung.

The humor isnt exactly good.

I give it 2.5/5.

in a way i think i enjoyed the Baywatch humor a bit more. laugh.gif

anyways i'm still waiting for Baby Driver to come out in HD release. it can't come soon enough!

Watched the latest Pirates movie last night. I was so bored. Please stop making more Disney. a 1/5.

The other night I watched It Comes At Night. have mixed feelings about this. on one part i liked the suspense and atmosphere of it but on the other hand i hated that nothing else really happens. i give this one a 3/5.

oh well at least there's Narcos Season 3 to keep me occupied this week. biggrin.gif

Watched Book of Henry last night. whoa strong performances by the kid that played Henry (same stuttering kid from IT) and his little brother (he played the kid in Room with Brie Larson). the cute girl was pretty good too.

it was nothing like the trailer. movie took an sudden emotional swing from the first part.

i liked it a lot. highly recommended for watching this with your parents. A 4/5. biggrin.gif
