Should be possible. But Dell 5480 is not a good choice if you are gaming a lot. Slim laptop tends to be hotter than normal laptop. Also, someone just mention that wifi reception is weak, same like the previous model.

Dell Inspiron 14 7447, i5-4210H, 4gb ram, GTX 850m, 14" hd screen, win8.1, priced at Rm 2599 (last month). Dunno if the price increased.
Budget line SSD 256gb is around Rm380-460

edited: just checked Dell website, they had increased the price, now at Rm2699.

I think it still good for people who want lightweight and portable machine, but just not recommended for gamer.

I only hate the fact that Dell doesnt improve wifi reception and this time they removed msata slot. ( read it somewhere, but still not confirmed yet )

and so much more expensive.
XPS is considered a premium line whereas Vostro is considered an entry line.
there's no need to compare apple with oranges

yup does xps have a dedicated GPU like what he wanted that is available on the Vostro?
once again, Apple vs Oranges

for slim design, 3k (he stated max of3k, not 3.5k which is way under the XPS basic spec), dedicated gpu, his options are very limited and the vostro do fit the criteria if it is a Dell that he wants. if he can forgo the slim factor then the 7447 is a better choice as suggested by @ashraf095.

HI All Sifu-s and apprentices.

I would like to replace my old laptop with a new one once Win 10 launched. My old laptop is HP Pavilion dm3 with an AMD dualcore processor (@@). It's been almost 5 years old.

1. Preferred Brand - MSI?? or any other but not HP and Acer.
2. Budget - Can up to 5-6k
3. Usage - Minimal Gaming, Entertaiment, Heavy usage of software that consume the "CPU usage"?
4. Preferred laptop/screen size - 15"
5. Some requirement - Full HD, keyboard with backlit, Lightweight

One I would like to clarify is, I wish the new laptop wont hang / lag on me. I prefer to buy a new one with all high spec that I might not be using but at least wont lag and hang at the critical moment.

Please advice.

Thanks all Sifu-s
