A dedicated flash gun is always preferable to the pop up flash. Using a flash gun allows you to be creative with the light and bounce light of various surfaces at various angles giving you a better picture. Direct flash is pretty undesirable in most cases.

If you're just a hobbyist, the Canon 430EX II is more than enough for you. Plenty of power and can bounce too. If that's too expensive you could probably look at third party alternatives like some of the Nissin flashes. smile.gif

Dealers are advised to not sell above the recommended retail pricing.
It should be lesser than RM 250 usually.

If you're spending RM 300, might as well get one of those multichargers.

Finally bought myself a new addition to my gear, Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 non-VC. brows.gif

I was wavering between the VC and non-VC version of the lens, but ultimately decided to buy the non-VC version. I tried my friend's VC version and I didn't quite like its VC mechanism. Though it might be useful, for an ordinary hobbyist like me, the price difference isn't enough to justify the functionality. tongue.gif

Hi vankodoq, how do you find your new gear tamron 1750 2.8? I am currently torn between tamron and sigma (with OS) i.e price differences.

Ohhh, another thing, heard that Lazada selling grey set lenses, is it true? I am contemplating of buying lens from there. Can anyone helps to clear my doubts?
Thanks.

Here are the review regarding Canon 1755, Tamron 1750, Sigma 1750 and Sigma 1835.

IIANM import set is also known as grey set. The price is cheaper than ori set but you're not covered with manufacturer warranty.

the "fair price" at trade-in shops will never be "fair price" for consumers.

I know but at least not someone that will rip me off for something I can sell at an acceptable price. The flash in the camera wouldn't pop up so I think it's quite difficult to sell it in the forum.

I don't see many shops that do used cameras. But you can try these guys http://kldslr.com/

FYI, I've never tried them so I don't know much about them.

You have higher chance selling it higher at a forum than at a shop.
Pop up flash spoilt ? Just reduce price by 10%-25% of the market price.

A second hand 500D (Body only) would be about Rm 600-700.
Perhaps you can try to let it go at RM 450-550.

Hi Friend,

Try this for saving your pop up flash, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z9ePwa0HDGA.

It is a common problem with Canon DSLR (I cannot say so for other brand as I have not used them) if you use external flash for a long period of time. I have to readjust once in a while after 3/4 hour event shoot as the external flash have been there for a long time and the contact button is stuck. Take a paper clip of what ever that can reach to fiddle the button under the metal in hot shoe.

Happy selling, market rate is around RM600 for 500D for body only and RM700 For 550D, Of course if you go to shop they will have to take it in for lower because they need to sell it for a profit.

Good Luck!
