i won't say they're not good build.

those EF-S 17-55 and 15-85 are solid. Even L lens, not all of them are weather sealed.

why not go straight for 5d mark iii? or 6d?

6D is higher end than 7D?

kinda hard to say tho. it has FF sensor, some other little features like Wifi. but has a not so good AF system and burst compared to 7D II.

sensor-wise, yes. Because it's full-frame sensor. But technology wise, no. 7d mark ii is a whole new camera with 65 af focus points. Plus 10fps on the 7d mark ii.
Since he already owns the 60D, i don't see any good reason to upgrade to 7d mark ii, spending thousands just to have a better AF. In my opinion, if you are not shooting olympics, F1 or any high end sports frequently, then don't need the 7d mark ii AF system. Maybe upgrade to FF, it opens up another whole new level of photography world for you. Different perspective, different image quality, different bokeh quality. If you already fully utilizing the APSC sensor, maybe you can jump to FF, but need enough budget as well.

I saw a site selling Tamron lens for the 300mm. Why some are at RM2,985 (28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di VC PZD Lens (Model A010) for Canon EOS ) and some RM490 (70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di LD Macro Zoom Telephoto Autofocus Lens)?

Such a big difference if I just need to shoot zoomed distance objects.

That saves some $$.

my 60d masuk air. the main turning thing not working properly. it is set to M but shows AP. also, the on/off button doesnt work. its constantly on, the only way to off it is to take out the battery.

any chance for repairing it? if yes, where? thanks sifus.

FF is too expensive, mark iii is about 11k for the body alone.

I also recently bought the 17-55mm f/2.8 IS.

The much improved auto focus will come in very handy with my wife's shooting of action shots at parties and my shooting of my kids.

why not 70D? it's like RM2k cheaper than the 7D mark II. The AF from the 70D is taken from 7D I.

I would not upgrade to a 70d, the change from a 60d to a 70d is not so significant unless you use your camera mainly for video.

will they have articulating lcd for FF in near future?

which part do you feel lacking in the 70D? mind you the 7D AF system is very capable even after so many years as what you will get in the 70D. Don't mind the name, the 70D is stil a solid upgrade from the 60D imo.

You paying for optical quality, image stabilization and focus motor quality. Sometimes paying for the super zoom range, which optically not great but its for people seeking convenience for a one lens does it all.

The reviews for the Tamron 70-300 Di Macro cheapo lens are not good. For rm490 Budget zoom the canon 55-250mm IS ii is better. Optically good with decent image stabilization but not so good autofocus.

But the Tamron 70-300mm VC USD (price around rm1300) has ton of good reviews and says it has very good optics for its value. Good optics and good image stabilization and decent motor focus. Many reviews recommend this lens as best value telephoto.

It all depends on your budget and what quality you want. You wiling to spend more for IQ than look at the 70-200mm by both Canon L and Tamron.

The 70d is a fine camera, but I already have a 60d. The autofocus system on the 70d is of course better then that of the 60d, but it is not enough for me to change the camera.

The change in autofocus system from 60d to 7d mark ii is huge though.

if i were you, i will not even think of upgrading. since you just purchased the 17-50, just stick with it. I have shot tons of sports photos with canon 500d, one of the most basic AF system, and published too. 60d is far far better in terms of AF. plus, shooting fast moving subject is not entirely dependent on your camera as well, mostly on skills and experience, and also on your lens quality. trust me on this, u are just thinking of upgrading because of the hype!
so i really don't see the point of upgrading to 70d, 7d, or even 7d mark ii. save some money up first if budget is your problem. i really recommend your next camera to be a Full frame sensor cam if u really want to upgrade. just my two cents.
