even if there's any, they can only imitate the out look i think. the moment you press the shutter to take any image, everything will be revealed. making a camera is a lot complex and hard compared to phone.

Welcome to the club!

Wow, a plastic model collector huh! Like your collection!

One thing I have to why the picture taken is dated December 2013? Or you have not format the card and set the camera date?
Advice from me would be try not to put the ISO too high as quite a noisy image for a product shot, eventhou nowadays can do high ISO setting. And do look out for the background as sometime it might be distracting.

Keep up the good work!

yeah i think i didnt set the camera date, cos i bought this as used unit, at a very great price hehe...
so indoor shoot should set to 100 enough? i actually put this on auto sans flash mode.

and yeah i have great love for action figure, 1 of the main reasons to jump into the DSLR bandwagon. other than that, cosplay chicks

I really wondered my camera can do the shoot like yours??

ppl said lens matters more, but i doubt it would reach to a point you will have to upgrade to a better body

For the ISO you need to set according to the light condition, or let the camera decide in AUTO ISO. But for product or still shot, is better to have cleaner image or image with less noise, so you need a steady support or tripod to help you with the shot. Have some test shot and see how the camera perform in high ISO and try to avoid getting more noise into picture. But remember, a 'noisy' picture is always better than a blurry picture.

I also wonder how other people got great shot, but i think the only way is shoot more and learn from the mistakes. For me, if you pass me any camera i will also take the same type of shot, as is still the same user with the same mind set. Lens do matter more because they can retain a greater resale value compared to body and photography is like another type of investment.

So what body and lens does not drag me down from getting the shot i wanted, in fact i am using a 10 years old plus DSLR and it still serve me good. smile.gif

Thanks. Shot all of that in a tutorial room.

Didn't edit the greaves and wrinkles out because
1. I was so used to seeing wrinkled convocation gowns that I find that acceptable/not distracting lol.

2. He's suppose to be doing work, wrinkles on the sides are normal.

3. If it's too much, I'll reduce then for the next batch.
Thanks for the advice.

Background is just a plain black background.
Everything else is dry ice, lightblaster and photoshop.

Cosplay, eh? There will be a cosplay event in Pavilion on Sunday if I'm not mistaken. You're coming? hmm.gif

As for the what matters more, it's always the man behind the gun. I know I'm still a long way to be at the same level with the sifus here, but the more you take pictures (and compare them to better ones), the more you'll know what makes a good picture for you. tongue.gif

Yes, 430EX II is able to act as slave.

Refer to the product photos at http://www.goldfries.com/

Almost all of the recent photos are straight out of camera, flash setup consists of 2x 430EX II.

meaning i can use 430 ex ii to act as off the camera flash light? in my d90 i using d800 cos it can support wireless (CLS) mode. so this 430 ex ii i can use wireless to trigger it from my camera pop-up flash right?

Most current canon dslr can act as a master to 430exii via IR. Not wireless.
