Simple reason for me when I chose Canon few years back. By that time 400D was considered as on par with D80. And I have no money to get D80 which was about 3k, whereas 400D was only about 2k.

But then, I prefer Nikon built more than Canon.

i read some people actually put their body in a sealed rice bag and leave it for few days or week until it dries completely. the body then gets back to work. here's a link to the rice trick

Just spent RM6xx the other day to repair and service my Tamron 24-70. RM550 for motor replacement and another 85 for replacing focusing rubber gasket and general cleaning.
