QUOTE(nixonyang @ Sep 2 2014, 11:26 PM) It only has the A5000 sensor so not really as serious a tool as we expected it to be - more of a normal daily snap shooter. It will NOT have the A6k or the A5.1k AF performance, and WIFI control and transfer is always slower than direct. But it WILL be tiny, so that's that. Mmmmm, new SEL1635ZF4 FE-mount coming, estimated price 6k. New E-mount stuff nowhere to be seen. I cry nao. This post has been edited by Eiraku: Sep 3 2014, 12:28 AM |

My friend's A6000 has an issue. After setting the "Pre-AF" (autofocus before half-press shutter button) to on, it still won't do pre-AF in all modes except the movie mode. I tried it on my A7S and it works. Any idea what's going on? Any other settings that may cause this issue? Thanks!

QUOTE(bdrc @ Sep 3 2014, 12:00 PM) Nope.![]() Courtesy of SonyAlphaRumors.com... which is Petapixel source to begin with. Besides, it doesn't make sense to put your latest and greatest in a niche product anyway - it would certainly drive the price up above the reach of their intended audience (which, TBH, I'm not even sure who they are). For one my significant other has already expressed interest for this to replace (or al least augment) her traditional DSLR. Whether or not the local pricing will be good enough remains to be seen though. As a backup camera that is compatible with most of your lenses and can fit a tiny lens case itself, the potential is clear. Just how laggy the controls will be is the possible issue here. Personally I'm totally sold if the A6k can slave it... which is unlikely. What I do hope though is that it is enough of a hit that Sony would seriously consider creating more decent APS-C glass again for it and (by extension) the rest of us APS-C shooters. you have to think out of the box. Professional videography may consider this.... imagive this small thing on a simple light rig, weight affect the stablility.
everything else is remote. mic remote controller and codec to a sound box. remote LCD display... w00t! this camera can go places other cam cant ever dare to think off. (aside gopro/actioncams)... for the price, i think its a winner for a lot of serious video maker. |

Now it would be sweet if they could get the PMW-F55's global shutter sensor and add the A7S' electronic second curtain (Silent Shutter) - then you'd have perfect Silent Shutter without skewing and flourescent light bands. But then the QX isn't in that market.
The A7S, despite having Silent Shutter on, reverts to mechanical second curtain when using Wi-Fi to trigger remotely (unless you take a screenshot on your smartphone, which might be quieter.) |

Like I said we'll before, it is what it is to appeal to its target market. I agree there will be numerous niche applications for it, but that will not be what it's designed for. everything else is remote. mic remote controller and codec to a sound box. remote LCD display... w00t! this camera can go places other cam cant ever dare to think off. But, necessity is the mother of all inventions so it's only time before this makes it into all sorts of wonderful setups owing it's tiny size - especially for video, as you said. Even *with* all it inherent limitations. I mean, given enough disposable funds, I'd want one. This post has been edited by Eiraku: Sep 3 2014, 02:44 PM |

But if you can afford the extra dough the But used A6000 a bit hard to find. But new asso below 2k can get edi lor (body oni). This post has been edited by Eiraku: Sep 3 2014, 05:58 PM |

I turn that Pre-AF off as it's kinda annoying the camera keeps on refocusing everytime. |

QUOTE(nk3371 @ Sep 3 2014, 06:02 PM) Any chances the focus mode was on MF instead of the others? The settings is "S" (shutter priority), AF-C, Wide focus area. Do you all have no such problem? So the camera is already malfunctioning just after 2 months....hmm.... I turn that Pre-AF off as it's kinda annoying the camera keeps on refocusing everytime. |
