I think the major difference u need to consider is whether u need phone function
X1 has phone function natively while Tab S doesn't, but can sync with another Samsung smartphone (to use its phone function) if u have one. Personally I think it is ridiculous to hold the phone and make calls in public but a bluetooth headset will fix that

Launcher wise, personally I think Samsung Touchwiz is more polished than Huawei EMUI but that is my personal opinion. U will also have more developer support for Samsung devices compared to Huawei

These days Android phone come with 2GB or above RAM so it doesn't lag like those older devices. For me, no noticeable lag for X1. Don't own Tab S so can't comment on that aspect

The screen of the X1 is absolutely fantastic. The colours are simply beautiful. Hardware & specs wise, it is top notch
In fact, many people asked me whether it is an iPad mini

As a tablet, I think X1 is a good buy considering the small size, fantastic screen and top notch hardware

May I ask, which one is newer: The current B012 ROM (EMUI 2.3) vs this one

http://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-med...00-dpi-t2925015

(which is EMUI 3.0)?

Dear friend. I am using my iP5s as my main device. Calls. sms. whatsapp.

I would like a tablet for work :
Review excel files, pdf files.
Take photo of product. Detail photo.
WAtch movie in flight.
Manage alot of social media for my company.
Store documents in order in the tablet.

I love the x1, but the major set back is the lack of power in the processor compared to Tab S and the support from Huawei in terms of software.

I am so confused between this two devices.

I have heard people manage to get by the touchwiz but shutting down a lot of its features and maybe run nova launcher.

What's the confusion? Slap on Nova Launcher and Zooper Widget, make it look like whatever you want.

Samsung Tabs also do not get much ROM development, look at all their flagship tablets.

If you want to CONSUME content, any tablet will do, and the X1 is a very nice candidate, best 7" IMHO and a few others here. LTE is fantastic and so is battery life.

However in terms of CREATING content, you NEED a physical keyboard to do it properly otherwise it is very tedious.

I do use the X1 for Excel and PDFs, and it works ok but it's hard to do complex formulas or whatnot.

Some tasks are still better on a full blown PC/notebook.

B102 which is best firmware to date. Why would you want to downgrade back to a poorer firmware ??
Try search for it at XDA thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-mediapad/general

Good for you, hope you enjoy the X1. I do not like EMUI but that is a personal preference. Yes seeing excel is great on this screen. Even Google Sheets etc work nicely.

Perhaps you need to perform a factory reset.

I have both malaysia 7d-501L and China 7d-503L set with me. Both work fine here. The china set, 7d-503L lte work here, I have tried with Digi LTE, Umobile LTE and Maxis LTE. All work with no issue. So no worry buying China set, except warranty and need to manually install google services.

I have also change my local set 7d-501L firmware to 7d-503L firmware and it work fine. I have been using it for 2 months.

i try to download china version but all the zip file is only 336++kb ?

anyone tried this ? http://consumer.huawei.com/cn/support/downloads/index.htm

Hi Guys, I have successfully upgraded my 7D-501L with firmware
7D-503LV100R002C208B009.
It's an EMUI 3.0 KitKat 4.4.2 and I guese it's 320 dpi as I compare the text size earlier on 2.3 its visibly smaller.
1) I am using the dload zip file downloaded in this website:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-med...20-dpi-t2923307
2)Then the latest China Media Pad X1(7D-503L) B009 (EMUI3.0_Android4.4) dated 9th January from this website:
http://www.emui.com/plugin.php?id=hwdownlo...d=detail&mid=64
3)Unzip the dload zip file and replace the update.app file with the downloaded B009 update.app
4)So the dload copy to micro SD card as per usual into the tablet and begin the process.

I am still testing the tablet but do share with me too if you have this EMUI 3.0 in your tablet icon_rolleyes.gif
