Usually the pre-authorize USD1 will get reflect immediately, without showing on your online banking / paper statement.

However if you do verify the card by asking for 4 digit PP code, the amount will stay in your PayPal account. I got stucked USD10 there

PayPal dispute team is quite efficient on handling fraud case, encounter 1 time few years back, settle within few days after I file complaint to them.

Not from credit card, U got free 2 birthday gsc tickets every year when u register as a member in their website.

just experienced fraud once with paypal but it was reversed out quite efficiently

I'm sorry but I do not understand this sentence above as bold. PP code is the 4 digits in front of the card? (functions just like using CCV digit)

most probably will appear in your statement after two months..

that code is from paypal..not your CCV code..

this is the sequence how it work.

1. you click on the verify card
2. paypal make a USD10 transaction
3. once transaction go through and appear in your statement..you will see the 4 digit code in your statement
4. you go back to paypal and key in the code.
5. the USD10 willl credit to your paypal account and wouldn't refund like the USD1 transaction..

if you talking about USD1 charge for paypal, it is necessary..
it just a checking whether the cc is valid before allow you to add the cc...

the transaction will reverse straight away after it go through...
just a verifcation, ntg to worry about..

no, like 2 days ago when i wanted use my amex linked to paypal, i received sms of 1usd charged on my amex.

so, paypal charge usd1 on the card just to authenticate its validity before continuing with the actual transaction?

It is just like pump petrol at petrol kiosk, they will swipe 200 at start end once the transaction end, revert back the remainder.
The USD1 will not be in your statement

or maybe should say like this, charge usd 1 without posting, and reversed after that. (will not appear in the statement)

but, another one is about the RM 10 (or now changed to USD 10?) for verification, will have 4 digit string attached with the statement (or while the sms notification)

maybe VISA/Mastercard = RM10
