By replacing default Cisco Linksys E1200 to Asus RT-N56U, will it make a huge difference in terms of surfing, downloading, streaming online?

I'm staying alone so nobody is sharing the network.

Hi Bro,

Dont replace yet, try the Linksys E1200 first, do some thorough test in downloading, streaming etc...if you are not satisfied then only change...sometimes normal browsing & downloading will not give you significant difference.

Thanks.

Surfing and streaming, I am unsure. But for downloading, the RT-56U is very convenient - with an external USB hard drive connected to the router, I can download stuff at the router (a web applet called Download Master) directly without needing a PC, plus a few other extra features like VPN, DLNA media server, FTP server etc..

Not forgetting the fact that the RT-56U is a concurrent dual band wifi router - both 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz.

RT-N56U also has multiple simultaneous sessions handling capability far more better than the buggy e1200..

If yr condo has tons of wifi network detected, its good to utilize the 5GHz band for this router..

Thanks.

Hi all bro,

My contract with Maxis Fiber 10mb promotion (Rm118) had finished and thinking of jumping boat, I had bad experience with it, I am living in Pelangi Damansara Condo and the downtime of the internet sooooo frequent!

My modem been replaced more than 4 times within 2 years, the longest time for them to get it fix was 10 days! of cause la they didnt charge me for 10 days, now I get the latest modem and router still not good, occasionally I will dced from it.

Thinking of getting Time fiber as the 100mbs package quite attractive... Any sifu/bros can help me?
