in forum, sure there is many many different different view of angels, there is nothing wrong or right sometime. if anything not align or different preferences, best is ignore, instead of post nonconstructive comment. joking or trolling post is belong to Kopitiam or somewhere else.

say monitor 1 to display a game
monitor 2 to display a browser
or

Tq bro.
So display port is higher resolution than dvi or hdmi?
*
these are the max each type of connector can display

DisplayPort 1.2 - 4K at 60Hz
HDMI 1.4 - 4K at 30Hz
Dual Link DVI - 2560x1600 at 60Hz

Dual Link DVI is DVI-D?

It means if our gc and monitor has all the connections, the best is use Display Port ?

Unless you want a TN panel. Check out the samsung U28D590. 28" 4k TN. 1.6k I believe. That's the cheapest 4k display I could think of at the top of my head right now.

I could've sworn I've seen somewhere, it listed for 1.6/1.7k for that model. It was on offer i believe. I can't remember where as I'm not too keen on that model. Hence I don't take notes where the pricing comes from sweat.gif You have to survey and shop around i guess.

EDIT:
Check this one out. RM1550 for the samsung http://www.lelong.com.my/samsung-u28d590d-...5-06-Sale-P.htm

no, there are 4 types of DVI with single or dual link

read abit on these, i know its confusing, but it helps when dealing with DVI stuff
http://www.lindy-usa.com/tips/DVIGuide.html

EDIT: depends on what youre using for

if 1080p monitors, you do fine with DVI, DP or HDMI

>1080p is where you need DP or DL-DVI
HDMI cant support >1080p really well unless its the latest HDMI version

DP is considered the superior cable as it allows daisy chaining and supports 4K with no issues compared to HDMI

still DELL huh...im wondering why dell suddenly bcome the mainstream monitor brand now  hmm.gif
last i recall it was Samsung....

but thanks for the recommendation.
i wanna setup dual monitor for my PC and gonna pair it with my old samsung xl2370.
one for gaming, another one for photo editing.

ok...not sure if i can ask this next question here...but how do one setup dual monitor on his pc? sweat.gif

my old samsung monitor is having hdmi input only....while my gc only has 1 hdmi output but 3 displayport output.
can i still setup a dual monitor using one hdmi, while another one displayport?

Times have changed smile.gif
Check this list of awards Dell received for their monitors:
http://www.dell.com/learn/us/en/19/campaig...tor-award-us-en

Another plus point for Dell monitor is the warranty. 1-to-1 replacement on the next business day thumbup.gif

Hi, just need some reassurance. Never actually buy from Dell before using credit card. Since i need to provide all my credit card details tru the phone when i want to make a purchase with dell, is it safe? The sales person practically have all my info.

Lot of people buy Dell monitors. Not just monitors but other stuff as well like notebook and PC. If it wasn't safe, you surely hear of people being conned.

I am just worried that I have to give all my credit card details (number, exp date, name, behind 3 digit) to the salesperson in order to purchase. I only worry next time what they can do with that info.
