I currently have dual U2412M in portrait mode. I'm thinking of buying another u2412m but after thinking about it for days and with my budget constraint, i guess the 1080p u2312hm is gonna be better cause i'll be putting it in landscape mode on a vesa mount. So my monitors will be in P-P-L configuration.

So, my problem is right now is that, it appears that the stock for u2312hm is very scarce and hard to find since it has been discontinued since last year. So, i guess the P2314h is my only alternative right now? Cause I only need 1080p and the pixel density for 23" on 1080p is nearly identical to 24" 1200p.
(95PPI vs. 94PPI). What do you guys think?

Definitely a good buy if the pricing is right. Hoping it to be under 3K. My dad is in the market for one of these, maybe 2. laugh.gif

I haven't checked whether the warranty is usable. Frankly I'm not putting much hope on it since it's imported, but at the same time I'm not concerned about it since I've had good experience with LCD monitors generally.

I can help you guys check though.

Even a simple game like Diablo 3 strains my GTX 770 to 100% in 4K res. I have since switched back to a 1080p monitor to save on 200-300W electricity laugh.gif

I'm really interested in knowing the monitor's warranty.
Hoping to hear from you soon. smile.gif

Found 2 'bright pixel' on one of my U2412m. Called up dell and after a few emails, a replacement monitor is on its way!

Amazing experience since this is my first time claiming warranty.

PS, I lost my receipt but i did emailed technical support pictures of the stickers on the original monitor box. Ahaha laugh.gif

EDIT: Just got my replacement monitor, a refurbished set. Got it replaced in less than 24 hours. Amazing after sales service from Dell!

EDIT2: After using the replacement monitor for a few hours, I found 3 bright pixels! Can't believe my eyes at first since i thought it was just dust, but after further inspection, it has 3 bright pixels! Calling dell for a replacement again tomorrow. cry.gif Ugh, can't believe this.

EDIT3: Dell technician said, it's not 'bright pixels' that I'm having right now on my replacement monitor. Instead, they are dead pixels. The are unable to replace cause it's less than 6 dead pixels. I was like wait so, you gave me a replacement monitor which is worse than my previous original one? Okay. Hmmm, can you zoom in and inspect it properly. And he said nope, they're unable to send out a replacement monitor. shocking.gif At that time, I was like omg I can't believe this. Hoping for miracle already at that moment.

And after a few email exchanges, he agreed to replace it. A replacement monitor is coming on tuesday! Big thumbs up on dell's part. thumbup.gif

Need some help here.
My monitor Dell U2312HM has defective pixels on the left side recently.
What actions should I take ? Got a solution ?
It is still under warranty, maybe can get a replacement ? I don't really know the procedure.
Thanks in advance.

Heres how it is

If you have less than 6 'dead pixels' then I'm sorry but you're out of luck for a replacement. They'll replace it if you have even 1 'bright pixels'. Look at your monitor carefully because this part is critical and very important.

You may refer the Dell LCD Display Pixel Guidelines as per link below to determine your LCD screen dead pixel issue
http://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/...8/%7Bdoclang%7D

If I'm in your situation right now, I'd call dell up. They'll clarify it for you whether its eligible for a replacement or not.

So they procedure would be like this. Call Dell at 1800-88-0022

You would need to give them your 'order number' from the original monitor box it came with. Starts from 900XXXXXX. They'll verify your monitor's warranty for you. And the rest, just follow the instructions from the technical support person. smile.gif

Hope that helps. Good luck! icon_rolleyes.gif

If you don't mind 1080p on a 27", then take a look at the Dell S2740L. RM1099

Hi there, planning to get a second monitor for extended display usage. Does different sizes matter eg 23 inch and 24 inch (1080p)?
*
Screen real estate will be the same. 24" will feel a little bit bigger than the 23".

Hence, monitor size doesn't matter as long as the resolution is the same.

Any suggestion for 21.5 inch monitor? Budget below rm 500. Good color reproduction is preferred and 1080p.

Dell S2240L. RM 519 on the Dell's website. nod.gif

Ah, dilemma, S2740 vs U2913wm. any reason i should go for ultrasharp U2913wm ? Mainly for movie.
*
Between those two?

Definitely the u2913wm. 21:9 movies looks great on it.
More pixels than 1080p on the S2740L too!

Sorry for a noob question, is there any reason to go for ultrasharp series? Since most of the normal series also IPS panel.
