actually i think 4k adoption is growing bigger and faster with 4k tv getting cheaper, tv are not that great compare to a monitor but some are very capable and works well for many people just as a display
i know cause im tempted, i saw a panasonic 40 inch 4k tv going less than RM2K..i seriously thinking of buying it until i remember my gpu does not have the horsepower to run it
Well with a TV most GC for the last 3 years could run it at 4k@30Hz through HDMI 1.4 protocol...i know cause im tempted, i saw a panasonic 40 inch 4k tv going less than RM2K..i seriously thinking of buying it until i remember my gpu does not have the horsepower to run it
Running 4k@60Hz however is limited to GC or MB that supports HDMI 2.0.... which is only Nvidia's Maxwell or some Z170 MBs... or through USB C converted to HDMI 2.0....
There's also DP to HDMI 2.0 converters.... these however are rare and expensive....
Gaming @4k would require a pair of the highest-end card at least...
