Guys, my Dell U2311H is showing some signs of dying but its covered under premium warranty.

There's no more Dell U2311H so how will Dell go about replacing my units?

They won't give one of their 23 inch non Ultrasharp monitors right?

Cheers
*
They will probably give you this model "P2314H" since this is one of their closest available model.
Or, if they do have refurbish unit, they'll prioritize that instead, so... wish you luck on that... sweat.gif

Edit: Opps, wrong model.

QUOTE(karhoe @ May 28 2014, 11:57 AM)
What's the diff P2314H and u2312HM though
*
From the specifications point of view, very little different (newer panel used, probably), P series however only exist in Business category, making purchase a bit hard, but still archive-able. Just need to contact your nearest retailer to find out, you can call up Dell to look for your nearest supplier/retailer.

If you however still can find U2312H then you can go ahead... but I won't be sure if it's a new unit.

Hi guyz, i just bought a new Dell S2740L about last month. I've have it connected to 2 systems on this monitor, my PC with DVI and the Astro Beyond HD with a HDMI input. I've been working, browsing and PC gaming with no problems at all. Yesterday, I hooked up the Astro Beyond HD to the HDMI. Now after less than a couple hours, there's obvious image persistence/burn-in in both upper right and left corners where the logo display was. I unplugged the Astro Beyond HD and re-connected to my PC, then checked the PC HDMI input and PC DVI input and the burn-in after image is still there in Windows but fades away after an hour or so, but it's always the same mark and at the same spot when i open my Astro Beyond HD again. I thought the burn-in problem only for Plasma TV not the LCD... This Normal? What's the best fix? or this panel is defective? Should i call Dell?  I need help....  icon_question.gif  icon_question.gif  icon_question.gif  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif
*
Can you post a full screen instead just a corner, I can't see any difference there.
Burn-in... please explain, is it dimmed? Or like burn mark?
Does it happen when you only plugged into your PC using DVI and turn it on every time?

It could be just a LED or 2 which is not properly soldered? Or could be defective board at time.
If this persist then just call up Dell, it's 1-on-1 exchange after all, no biggie. wink.gif

my 42'' hdtv is a LG. I would think that for a living room TV, a smart tv samsung model would have been better. But no experience whatsoever for a pc desktop LG monitor.

But yes you are right LG do make some nice panels which other manufacturers use.
Was considering U2414H but i now hear it is notorious for back light bleed. Not too major i heard, but seems to be mentioned alot. Not sure that i would like that  rclxub.gif
Doing more research into the U2413, there is further doubt that the overdrive issue would ever be fixed. Even the latest revision people said that particular issue was still there. I'll check for myself  sweat.gif  at this point bit frustrated to hold off longer.
are you coming from a 24'' ? If so please share your experience regarding 1080p content displayed on 27'', would be interesting to know  hmm.gif
*
Isn't the U2413 for professional graphics than gaming?
For that price, I think U2713HM is much appropriate, and there's no overdrive issue as well, much more screen estate, but of course lack of the full gamut for pro graphics, but still great for gaming and movie with the gooding higher-end IPS.

Haha, took a while to read.. sweat.gif
Anyway, since you'd already ordered (saw it up there), then you shall make the review of the revision that you got from Dell, it seems Dell has some good and worst batch (looking at complains) so we shall see how's the outcome, but Dell's service has not disappoint me so far from the business point of view, albeit the lower quality product. sweat.gif

anybody can help ? my monitor model is S22A350H
I just take my back monitor from samsung service center
however, when I go control panel, my model is not showing S22A350H instead showing SMB2230H
the screen resolution is fine, but why model number is different ?
any idea what wrong ?
refer the attachment
*
Is the panel and all those external looks the same when you pick it up?
If it's yes then probably they change the whole board (chipset and stuff) so probably took from other same size monitor and just plug it in, calibrate bit then send back to you.
If the screen display does not annoy you in anyway, such as color, screen details, uniformity, etc then just accept as it is, otherwise you can head back and try your best to suggest otherwise, you have your right on that particular model, and they should provide you with the exact model unless the model is already discontinue and they have no way to find the parts any more.

Yep, there are very few models with 16:10 aspect ratio. Best one would probably be Dell. I think Asus, BenQ, HP and Dell have but don't think common in Malaysian market.
*
There's not enough demand for them to bring it into Malaysia market, normal consumer has been brain washed by the known brands for their TVs and such, which is why making 16:10 such a niche products. I would really prefer 16:10 over 16:9 any time, but price and availability really makes me think twice about getting it. doh.gif

Just realized Dell Malaysia is selling U2413, but gosh... it's really expensive.
*
This model is not so recommended for casual use, only those seeking for budget entry level colour critical works.
High-end IPS to boot, with factory calibrated report, I can say this only useful if you have the calibration tool to make full use of the hardware. sweat.gif

does that apply 2 the U2713H also? cool2.gif what made it more than another 1000 bucks more expensive than U2713HM? cool2.gif
*
Since he's asking for U2413 and not U27xx, and I only specifically refer to that model.

But to compare between those U27, that'll depends on the colour workspace needed, the later (much expensive) model provide better colour for those who needs it, I'm not dealing with colours myself so I won't know which one is actually better without looking at reviews, I'm mostly looking at reviews only though, since I don't have good eye (heavy spectacles) and no demo locally at my convenient. blush.gif

Now looking at the TFTCentral reviews both the specifications, very obvious the reason why U2713H is much expensive, RGB-LED, this, is the reason why U2713H is much favourable by most for colour critical works due to the much higher Adobe RGB and what-ever-it-is coverage. sweat.gif
Both monitors has factory calibrated report so... hmm.gif well, that's up to users now to choose the much affordable or go for the high-end (colours whistling.gif )

Add: As for me, of course the cheaper one, I don't have a calibrating tool to make use of it, just need the bigger workspace... seriously BIG!! blink.gif

Haha. My new monitor just started shipping. Today is the start of my last days using my old monitor. I just found the right timing 2 pull hard the trigger after 1 year plus of waiting and holding the money way 2 long in hoping the 1600p will drop 50% cheaper which still did not materialise. laugh.gif doh.gif 2713hm I post here once it reaches my doorstep. Haha. Hopefully in 5 years time have cheaper 4k monitor with better capable gpu in handling 4k gaming without single sweat.
*
biggrin.gif The same decision as I bought my 23" last time, the 24" is way too expensive, being over 1K (23" only RM680) last time really break the deal for me, what more it's a TN panel to begin with, capacitive touch button (bad choice) doh.gif
And yeah, post your side of review for this unit, although all of us should already know how powderful this model can be. sweat.gif

For those of us who takes color slightly serious and don't mind about pixels transition latency (IPS is always slower than TN, no doubt) and lastly we don't mind waiting for it to mature, yeah... after that few years, I'll probably jumped just slightly... 1440p sweat.gif

Cheaper than Asus alternatives, win-win for consumer, the industry is trying to push this tech faster to reach the mainstream. sweat.gif
From the picture, I think I prefer the stand from Philips, looks like Dell's U series. hmm.gif With rounded base. laugh.gif

QUOTE(lolapadia @ Aug 18 2014, 02:41 PM)
Hi I need a suggestion.

I need a monitor which I will do gaming on daily basis. I *might be* one of those high-graphic-setting hoes lol as I will always choose ultra on MMOs or single-playing

My graphic card is SAPPHIRE R9 290 4GB GDDR5 and my budget would be RM1k to 1.5k.

Is it true that HDMI is better than any other port? (DVI, VGA)

As most of my games are MMOs, 1-5ms is better for me?

Also, thoughts on 4k gaming with my GPU?
*
Best list your games' title and we talk performance.
If it's the latest gaming title, I believe 4K will tax your graphics to max, some probably unplayable.
MMO usually less graphics taxing, not too sure on 4K though, supportability is another issue.

HDMI is the same as DVI, share the same digital video signal tech but HDMI can carry audio signal, that's all, but I think HDMI has limit to 1080p only so it will up to you. 4K on HDMI, currently only 30p/i max? Correct me on this.

And as for the 1~5ms, are you refer to pixels transition latency (response per se)? If it's then normal TN should be fine, if you don't mind about color accuracy and those complicated stuff.

Lastly your budget, still can't buy any 4K, they're cheap right now, but still quite high for mainstream.
Just scroll around, check review if any, then just take out your wallet/card, pay or swipe... enjoy~ wink.gif

Was using a Sony LCD TV with VA panel previously, so the colors didn't exactly wow me at first laugh.gif

rclxms.gif Nice~ great for multi setup brows.gif
But not so great for me, no VGA (old machine) and DVI (less crucial but still..) sad.gif

VA colors, erm... well the black won't WOW you but the accuracy of the grey will, and what more the response is better than VA, much less trailing when you doing fast pace shooting or watching movies. wink.gif

Hello guys, can you help me solve this dilemma.
I'm in the market looking for slim bezel monitor.
I've narrowed down to 3 choices:

1. LG 23MP75H
2. Dell U2414H
3. Asus VX239H

I'm kinda lean towards the LG due to the price. But I'm wondering whether the Dell worth the extra RM300 in terms of picture quality and build. I'm aware of the features provided. I don't need the speakers at all. However, there's seems to have limited source of info for the LG. So I wish to get some indication from you experts. Thanks in advance, cheers!
*
Different of RM300? Go for LG! rclxms.gif That's if you don't need special stands that can pivot, turn, portrait, etc. and the warranty that it provides (door to door service), also Dell equivalent is just slightly bigger by an inch (24")
Budget, go for LG.
Want special leg that's super flexible and sometimes want portrait mode? And don't want fussy RMA process then Dell is for you.

It's up to you to consider if those extra features worth the money you spent on them. nod.gif

Wta, is monitor a part of computer component? If yes, it should not subject to custom duty/ import tax, correct?

Asking this as I plan to carry back LG 34um95 from South Korea.
Saw from lg fb that they wont carry in lg 34um65. Hence I think um95 should not be available to us as well. sad.gif

I wonder if the Custom would be nice enough to hear your explanation, but otherwise they'll just treat this as another TV (consumer electronic). doh.gif
