Dear Sifus,
Need your professional opinions. I need speakers for Rock, clear but bassy music-40%, movies-30%, gaming-30%. I have few speakers in mind and few concerns. I'll be connecting the speakers to laptop. Will I need a DAC? Say Asus Xonar u3? 1.Studio 8 - Will this produce enough bass to rattle a few windows? Will I need a DAC to create great sound? 2.R2730DB - Considering this due the fact its cheaper n smaller than Studio8. 3.C3X - Will this produce windows-rattling bass? 4.S330 - Cheap. But is it worth it? I don't have the time to audition any of these. Reviews are hard to find out there. Hoping any of you here could help. Thanks. |

Thanks. 2) same as 1 3) if it's anything like the older C3 that i have, lacking a lot of mid bass/mids 4) lacking everything however still considered good for the pricing it is demanding. bought this for my sisters and they love it (too small subwoofer/mid or mid bass speakers) so may i suggest S530D instead bro. i just gotten this, bass not as "rattling" as my Creative G500 THX certified, however to make up for its lack of quantity it has plentiful of quality bass where you can be easily moved by it pricing is very reasonable for what it offers for connectivity, try to just directly connect first. if insufficient only consider DAC (which i doubt you'll need) |

QUOTE(SyafiqSazzuann @ Feb 11 2015, 04:39 PM) Dear Sifus, I guess I should say some words since I've tested both Studio 8 and S530D in my roomNeed your professional opinions. Thanks. It's either you get the Studio 8 or opt for Edifier S530D (you can ignore your other options) S530D will give a harder kicking bass compared to Studio 8 mellow bass Both pounds hard Both gives clarity In any case you need rock, these 2 are just not meant for it due to its massive sizes contributing to sluggy speed while rock needs things fast. (however your 2nd option R2730DB can do it) but hey, they're both superb speakers to invest in so I'd definitely recommend choosing either one. I'd go for Studio 8 if you got the table space mainly because it sounded more 'huge' compared to S530D (plus the amp could save you some electric bills) I own the S530D and technology wise it's outdated. But sound wise I'll always go back to the S530D when compared to Studio 8 because it has more warmth over Studio 8 cold feel Hope it helps in your decision If you can't decide... Just buy based on looks That's what I do most of the time nowadays. Cosmetics>Sound I should be punished someday |

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Feb 12 2015, 12:17 AM) personally id go S530 anyday because it has a subwoofer, outdated or not. we can only hope for an X or MK II upgrade lololi wonder if the S530D i gotten had any improvements over sound or whatever besides the shitty digital interface lol (and cringe every single time we look at our units when the actual new model is out) |

I've auditioned R2730DB, R2800 and S530D. I must say, S530D have more kicks. Liking it. Thanks guys for the suggestion.
But then,, I gatal go and try S730. Fell in love with it instantly. Should I go for it? Will there be an updated version of S530 anytime soon? Coz S730 price kinda high. Hmm. |

Plan on changing my desktop speaker, currently using an old altec lansing i bought about 5 years ago for around rm250 and the connection to the subwoofer is crapping out on me.
Was looking at the M3300, M3250 and the C2x. If my budget is below rm350, which would u recommend? This post has been edited by lost123: Feb 15 2015, 03:49 PM |

QUOTE(thevool @ Feb 18 2015, 12:01 AM) I'm currently using Altec Lansing vs4121 speakers. sound quality will be an upgrade especially the midsIs it considered an upgrade, and will there be any significant difference if I upgrade to the Edifier C3 ? I'm not looking for boomy bass. And I read that the C3 is not the boom boom bass type. Add On : Soundcard I'm using now is the Asus Xonar U1 audio station. bass would be considered downgrade on volume and upgrade on quality (but it's more of a downgrade to most of the altec lansing users) |
