Edifier like stagnant for many years already.

I end up splashing RM600 for a pair of SuperM while waiting for S2000 replacement model.

Nothing to replace the desktop. So focus on speaker for phone and tablet instead.

It has to be S2000 if cosmetic really win...

S1000 has higher power output than my S2000... Wow

Just get rid of the Bluetooth though, and invest on something else to improve the sound. I even had one (Kickstarter) that transmit over wifi and even though it didn't compress, still not up to par compared a good sound card like Xonar Essence ST.

Actually wanna buy S730 but pricing is really crazy. There is really nothing much RM600 can buy nowadays huh... consider myself lucky with S2000 @RM999 last time.

Actually I audit them before (although very brief with sub par sound card etc), I don't really like them that much if I were to compare to my S2000. I thought I wanna get a 2.1 but there's no decent one for this price range. However I don't think I had much choice now given how expensive stuffs are getting nowadays.

Not sure yet. I had my S2000 in my living room and they were loud enough. If this gets annoying in the small room I had my pc, maybe will make a switch.

Just received it today...

Hook it up to my spare Sound Blaster Digital Music (modded with LME49720) and booming nonstop for an hour...

Initial impression is that it is quite bright, and I had to lower the treble by -1. Boosted the bass by +2.

However I do find it behaving strangely. Plenty of bass when you are seated right infront, slowly diminishing as you increase your distance away from it. Then it slowly return when you reach a wall. I thought the 8" would provide enough bass compared to my S2000 but thats only true when seated in front of it. It does pose a problem because it sound so bright that you cant really turn it up too loud without being annoying. Thats why I boosted the bass by +2 to compensate for it.

If I find some time to move out my S2000 from my living room and then move this huge ass for another test. Should sound slightly better since I had Xonar Essence there.

Right now I kinda like them a lot when seated in front of it. It totally fill the 10'x10' pc room, although it is very critical of your position.

BTW, so far the loudest yet comfortable volume for me is around 87dB according to Smart Tools app. Seem like I found another problem. It actually does not sound that good for videos. Watching Top Gear and it was quite subdued. On my S2000, those engine revving sounds great but here, not that well. I understood that its 40W RMS versus 18W (probably, cant remember the exact figure) but its just slightly disappointing here.

It was very slightly only when you put your ears close to the speaker (could be worse, but since I had a ceiling fan always on, I cant be sure. Of course I cant expect it to be at S2000 level)

I think the tweeter sounds ok, just some song has sibilant.

Anyway, it kinda sounds like multimedia speaker than Studio line to be honest. Studio line perhaps something like S2000 (yes, my bar is really high). Personally I feel S2000 is slightly louder than R2800. R2800 feel loud when the bass is pumping but when watching movie/show, you can really feel the mid is really lacking power. It just not so pronounce when listening to music/MV.

Try getting a better soundcard and try getting FLAC/WAV.

However, I recommend you to listen to them first. Can goto Sri Computer to have a listening session. Bring your own music and see which you like. Not sure if they had the other, but Studio 8 is definitely there with Studio 7. R2730 is just like Studio 7 with added Bluetooth function.

Depends on what movie. Studio 8 mid is lacking when there's action that emphasize movement, like supercar acceleration. This would be better on S1000 (presumably since I had S2000). However for explosive action, then Studio 8 huge woofer would blown S1000 away.

I'm also using my S2000 with my 50" Plasma in the living room before switching to Studio 8. Honestly I really found both have its weak points. I would strongly recommend something with a subwoofer plus about 20-40W RMS sattelite.

I wished this is held in your store in Taman Ehsan... 5minutes trip instead of 25minutes.

Already mentioned above. It's not covered under warranty though. Just treat it as buying NEW old model.

I'm so much happier with S730 for my kpop. Plenty of bass... I didn't noticed that sub was not ported until I checked mine. That's why they made it so big, tight bass.

Connect to tv?

I'm using it with HTPC. S730 sounds totally different from Studio 8.

R2800 is brighter, bigger sound field, probably more suited to a mid sized room. S730 is also better in a mid sized room but if you crank it up to max volume, it can fill the living room too. Probably S760 is more suited since it had more speaker to compensate.

Just finish watching Kimi no nawa... love the impact from the speaker.
