You're repacing the UniFi's crappy router with another shitty router.

Good luck.

Any suggestion? And what's wrong with the 4300? notworthy.gif
Read online seems like the one that works then it's great while others having 2.4GHz failure after a while... hmm.gif

Just read this: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2448867/all , so you're calling the 4300 a shitty one due to personal experience? blink.gif
And from http://www.tp-link.com.my/article/?faqid=704 , the only one model higher than the 4300 is the C7 which was the AC1750 i mentioned... doh.gif

You mean TL-WDR4300 is a shitty router?  hmm.gif
If 4300 shitty, TL-WDR3600 also not very good too?
Can I know why?  blink.gif

Hm, like that huh... so I guess the RT-N14UHP is the one which i can max out my budget for. All the Asus router also support Unifi by default or need some trick to make it work with Unifi modem? Was prefering TP Link as they give easier GUI for setting the router up... rclxub.gif

Ok, just found this, hopefully the GUI is same for N14 or the cheaper N12... hmm.gif

Or you can also wait a few more months to save more money to get the higher end routers from ASUS.
But if you're really limited to N14UHP, that model is fine too.

All ASUS routers has native support for UniFi.
And not sure why you thought TP-Link GUI is easier compared to ASUS.
ASUS routers GUI is the easiest to understand compared to any other brands.

Basically, this is my take between TP-Link & ASUS:
If you want to save money, go for TP-Link.
If you want reliability, stability & long term support, go for ASUS.

I've had both TL-WR1043ND & TL-WDR4300 from TP-Link, both of them has crappy GUI & outdated buggy firmwares.
But the WDR4300 is the worst of the lot. Even OpenWRT couldn't save it.

The GUI part was my doubt as I didn't see any visual material on how to setup for the Unifi until I saw the Youtube above. sweat.gif
Can you share what sort of problem that you ran into when using the WDR4300? Now I'm still doubtful on getting the WDR4300, N14 or the cheaper N12. If i can get the WDR4300 then I can make it future proof as I'm getting a new laptop next year (b4 GST sweat.gif ), while the N14 seems like a powered up version of N12 which both didn't have the 5Ghz capability but just differ in transmitting power (Not really a network pro so don't think i need much of the advance features). The distance of the router to my PC is just about 8 feet max with a wall in between so getting the N14 seems like an overkill (Having such large coverage which I'm not going to use) and the N12 is more appropriate for my usage. From what I read online seems like a mixture of good and bad about the WDR4300 so it would be good for you to share on what are the issue you're facing on WDR4300 so that I can take that into consideration... notworthy.gif

EDIT: Read from https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3033031/+20 seems like you're pissed with the 4300... laugh.gif But still didn't know why... And damn, felt like got the Asus poison from you, now looking at AC66U... doh.gif

Hi all Unifi users.
I have a question regarding termination of the service.
I have called TM regarding this matter but the person on the line didn't fully answer my question. So i hope you guys here might know.

The question is, if i want to terminate my subscription before the contract ends I will be charge RM500 penalty right? Just want to know, the penalty charge will include in my next bill or I have to immediately pay on the counter at TMPoint?

Thank you for any kind help. smile.gif

if u believe unifi stories, there is always something broken, so all the time have some excuse for bad connection.

the truth is that broken sea cable is long history, months ago.

however, there has been no service to some china sites in sep and nov - becos suspect was quota used up, did not pay more for more bandwidth, so users were fuming for some weeks. explanation was "we r experiencing heavy traffic to china...".

anyway, all has been restored to normal 2 weeks ago. of course, can expect some cable to be broken again and again.

where r u located?

here, shah alam, vip10, right now, wifi 45ft, all is good whether pc or hypptv or androidtv or torrent or china or usa or europe:

Dude isn't it that u have to return the BTU & settle all outstanding (including penalty charge) at tmpoint before u can terminate? I've not yet terminate unifi but i have done it with streamyx.
