Actually quite a number of subscribers recently got the silver router. In fact, almost all equipment given by TM to subscribers now come in the silver box - modem, IPTV STB, etc.

My cousin few months ago got UniFi and got the silver router, it's a D-Link but cannot remember model, a 4-digit model number that begins with 2... not the DIR615 that we many of us once got. Wi-Fi antenna is internal, and feedback from my cousin - sucks! I helped him replace it with an old TP-Link TL-WR841ND that I used before.

Thank you for your clarification.

I am telling him he might be the first one to use it.
bcos I dun see the purpose of his question.
maybe he got experience to share.

Anyone have any recommendations on which router to replace the dir615 with? Something that can handle a lot of users simultaneously. Preferably wireless AC.

That depends on your budget.
How much are you willing to spend?

About 400-500? The cheaper the better of course smile.gif If ac is not possible at that price, then N will do

If you're willing to wait, TP-Link Archer C8 will fit your budget.
Expected price for Archer C8 is around RM400 ~ RM500.

It should be arriving Malaysian shores in the next 1 ~ 2 months.

Even in a condo, if you sit in a separate room from the wireless router (separated by door & wall), the wireless signal is seriously weakened.

Was slow right now, probably due to raining. For Youtube.com, I have experienced video freezing when watching since last week. Have to refresh few times. TM doh.gif doh.gif
