This proves my "hypothesis" that there is no such thing as "branded diamonds".

Thanks for sharing bro!

This diamond is slightly on the shallow side, with the wider table and slightly short crown height.

34 degree crown angle is an acceptable angle, but I would prefer something between 34.3 to 34.9 in order to get more fire. But this is just my personal preference, getting a 34.x degree crown angle is already something not that easy in the market. So I will consider this diamond one of the better ones.

I based this on AGA/NAJA cut class grader:
http://datlas.com/AGA_NAJA_Cut_Class_grader/index.php

Tab Percent: 1B
Crown Angle: 1A
Crown Height: 1B
Pavilion Depth: 1A
Girdle: 1A
Depth: 1A
Polish: 1A
Symmetry: 1A
TotalGrade: 1B

HCA is 1.4
Light Return: Excellent
Fire: Excellent
Scintillation: Very Good
Spread or diameter for weight: Very Good
Total Visual Performance 1.4 - Excellent within TIC range

Enchanted Cut Score is 97.2%

Overall, I would say that this diamond is considered better than most you can find.

This diamond has been there since May 5, 2014. I would feel strange that it is still there, considering the proportions and price. My guess is that:
1. It is already preset in a ring setting and has been in the shelf since some time ago and now they are doing promotion to let go of this diamond ring. Correct me if I am wrong though. smile.gif
2. The diamond doesn't look great when you look at it. Hence, it is not sold. Remember that good proportions does not translate to good performance because we do not know about the cut quality based on proportions alone.

However, I have to say the price seems fair enough, considering you are getting side stones on a 18k white gold (Is 18k right?)

Thx for the insight. Appreciate it.
Yes bro..The diamond already set..As for the price..I guess it's the discount I'm getting from a friend's referral. It's from one of those old school Chinaman jewellery shops in an old shopping complex in KL.

I'm comparing with this actually:
GIA:5176569863
0.34c F SI1
Similar setting in 18k rose gold rm4.2k

To be honest..I can't really tell the difference between these 2 diamonds in terms of brightness..fire etc. It kinda looks the same to me.. the only major noticeable difference is the size..haha

Of course you will notice the size difference cuz one is 60.5% depth (shallow cut) and the other is 62.4%. One good thing about shallow cut is that it will appear larger face-up. So if you don't mind sacrificing a bit of fire here and a bit of brilliance there, then go for shallow cut.

Well, I won't consider the 0.34c F SI1 because:
1. 62.4% is cut too deep, as indicated by bb100.
2. 36 degree crown angle is too steep. It will be a good idea to keep things between 34 - 35 degrees.
3. SI1 with feather and twinning wisp? Without knowing the location of the inclusion is a no-no to me.

The benefit of the earlier 0.37 is definitely the size, as indicated by bb100 as well.

However, if you don't mind a slightly smaller diamond, you may refer to this diamond that I have chosen from WhiteFlash just now to compare the price:

My stone from WF dah sampai. XD. Looks really good. The ring box is awesome. Btw, how can we check the inscription? The viewer provided tak cukup power pun.

The H&A viewer is meant to look at the hearts from the bottom of the diamond and arrows from the top of the diamond. In order to view the inscription, you will need a loupe and look at the girdle of the diamond from the side. You can request the jeweler that will help you set the diamond to show it to you. Depends on individual, some may take some time and effort to really see the inscription on the girdle.

Thanks Koh. Memory jewellery says they have x10 magnifying glass that can view the inscription. x10 powerful enuff? or can only do it with trained eye. Still deciding between both Eumayco and memory jewellery as both of them offer same price for ring setting. Anyone has experience with both of them here?

According to what I have just read, 10x maybe not so clear, try 20x: https://www.serendipitydiamonds.com/blog/ho...n-your-diamond/
Anyway, why don't you pay a visit to both and see how things go? How much they are charging you for ring setting anyway?

Still in progress. Opted the one from Eumayco. Hopefully all is good although there is some concern feedback from the comments by some of the buyers in your blog.
