Actually 120GB is enough for mostly the OS and the Autocad Program/Application. You can just store your games in a normal HDD. Usually SSD is to store things that's need some fast booting or so

Where did you guys get the price btw... for example, I can't find Asrock H97 Pro and the i5-4460 from the Viewnet price list

but the new i7 4790 has 3.6GHz and up to 4.0GHz compared to Xeon E3 1230 v3 3.3GHz up to 3.7GHz

and i7 cost RM160 more than xeon e3 1230 v3. nt sure is it worth or not.

i think i would stick with 240gb ssd in case of anything, haha

RM 160 for 0.3 GHz...yet the same core/threads. I don't know bout you but I don't think the speed will have a "huge" improvements when rendering.

Well no display. You'll basically seeing the dark abyss of emptiness. It has no iGPU. Since Xeon are mostly used for as a workstation cpu and 3D rendering the fact that iGPU isn't needed because everyone will use a GPU to render their work.

So there's no way we can use Xeon CPU without a graphics card, right? If the graphics card dies, we can't use the pc unless the card is replaced?

Yes you are correct. No display until you change to a new GPU. The Xeon is a "server" cpu. In my book it's a 24/7 work power cpu. Capable of rendering to it's extent. So.....the problem why it's cheap is because it has no iGPU. The i7 which is relatively RM 100+ more which has an iGPU. To someone who is using such 3D rendering program has no use for the iGPU because all their workload is being pushed on the GPU. So yea, that measly RM 100 could be for them to get a better graphic card etc

Yes, going to oc the system probably to the max it can handle. But it also depends on how loud will the h100i be. I'm looking to a more balance system which is powerful, quiet and nice looks

Wait does the entertainment includes gaming? Since Idealtech already gave you an overhaul of the system. I think the only thing that you're probably gonna reuse are the RAM and HDD lor

No, the one from Idealtech is for a new build. My current PC setup is as above and I'm gonna either use it as work pc for my wife or sell it.

unless u feel rm 150++ more for extra 0.3ghz(around 8.1% more) + a iGPU which even dota2 lowest setting also just 40fps but still able to display and watch movie , then u can probably get that instead of xeon e3-1230v3

I think I used to saw Xeon cost only RM77x.

And either way, 799 vs 969 is a whole 20+% different. Not really worth IMO.
