Hi,

[Budget]
RM 5500

[Purpose]
Video game
Listen to music - Should I get external DAC or sound card?
Movies

[Hardwares that will be re-use] -

[Monitor resolution]
Want to get monitor with 27" 2560x1600. But if it's not suitable for gaming then can go for 23"/24" 1920x1200. Prefer 16:10 ratio.

[Games & softwares that use frequently]
High graphics video games, crysis.. etc, etc..

[Personal preferences]
Want to get a PC to play high graphics video games, preferably minimum 80% close to highest settings. No low fps or lag.
System is quiet when not gaming. And not too loud when gaming, if possible.
No need ODD, as it's seldom used and I think Windows 8 can be installed through USB.
Please suggest keyboard and mouse too.
Can suggest speakers too. But it's not included in the budget, as they can be expensive.

[Location]
KL

Who assembles PC, any suggestions? How much does the service cost?
Should I buy the parts and get the PC assembled in the same shop? Or buy the parts myself first then send to a shop to assemble?

Please advise. Thanks.

Unfortunately, 1600p displays would be only available on 30 inch displays, which is not cheap to begin with (FYI 30 inch 1600p displays cost more than half of your budget... sweat.gif )

Not to mention 1600p is incredibly hard to push even with very high end GPUs... sweat.gif

Still, I'd go with 1200p, but the price range is too close to a Korean 1440p display... sweat.gif

Anyway,

Xeon E3 1230v3-RM789
ASRock H97 Pro4-RM329
Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB-RM249
WD Caviar Blue 1TB-RM189
PowerColor R9 290 PCS+-RM1650
Seasonic M12II 620W-RM359
NZXT H440 (Black with Red Color)- RM399
LiteOn DVD Writer-RM55
Samsung 840 EVO 120GB-RM320
X-Star DP2710 Matte-RM963 (Get from this link: http://www.ebay.com.my/itm/Matte-X-STAR-DP...d1e678e&_uhb=1)
Keyboard and mouse of your choice-RM60

Total: RM5362

Still has room for a mechanical keyboard.... brows.gif

Thanks. I'll check them out later. The 29" Dell U2913WM monitor is a unique kind. How's the quality? Any issue that will come out during use? Good for gaming? Graphics card able to support the resolution of the monitor?
What's the benefits of Xeon processor over i5 and what's the benefit of i5 over Xeon? Xeon seems more expensive and has higher clock speed. Will the integrated graphics in i5 be used if the PC has an external card?

Hi, please recommend a case that have these features:
Quiet when playing games
Good air flow - doesn't getting too hot and damage the parts
Clean - doesn't get dust to the parts, such as the GPU, PSU and CPU (if it's possible)
Easy to clean dust - by taking the fan or the dust filters out for cleaning, or any other methods

Thanks.

You want to spend RM 1000+- for a Case? If not just state a budget. Ease up the search, say like around RM 500+- we can do it, else they're gonna spam you with Corsair 900D.
*
I see. Ok, around RM 400.
What's the most expensive case btw? How much is corsair 900D? Is it a quiet and good air flow case?

Under 400 then Phanteks Enthoo Pro is a good choice too, cost RM329 from GBros.
Corsair 900D is a crazy case, spend more than 1k... sweat.gif
*
Oh I see. The phanteks enthoo pro, is it noisy when playing games? Let's say when the speakers are off and nobody is talking.

I think that's it, the Corsair 900D, a Super Tower, cost RM 1270. It's one hell of a big case that's for sure.

Here's some case suggestion for below RM 400

Bitfenix Ghost - RM 339
Phanteks Enthoo Pro - RM 329
NZXT H440 - RM 399
NZXT Source 530 - RM 320
NZXT 410 - RM 325
Corsair Carbide 330R - RM 335
Corsair Carbide 500R - RM 395

If you have doubts or so, checks each single case and it's review. Just google the name of these case and type review in it.

I see. Thanks.
Just wondering what do you think about the Fractal Design Refine R4?

HDD:WD Caviar Blue 1TB RM174

Usually this HDD is suggested. But what exact model number and specs does it refer to? What's the Buffer Size or Cache?

Update: ok, probably is the one with model no. WD10EZEX? 64 MB Buffer Size?

3.5" WD Blue it is.

Normal consumer use WD HDD only 3 types, Green, Blue and Black.
*
But there are so many models under WB Blue category. And 2 of them have 1 TB capacity with different Cache size.

RM 160 for 0.3 GHz...yet the same core/threads. I don't know bout you but I don't think the speed will have a "huge" improvements when rendering.

With Xeon CPU, can we use the pc without graphics card? What will happen when the graphics card died? Thanks.

Well no display. You'll basically seeing the dark abyss of emptiness. It has no iGPU. Since Xeon are mostly used for as a workstation cpu and 3D rendering the fact that iGPU isn't needed because everyone will use a GPU to render their work.
*
So there's no way we can use Xeon CPU without a graphics card, right? If the graphics card dies, we can't use the pc unless the card is replaced?

What does this mean, Xeons are for workstation CPU?

Got any budget in mind?

Else, can consider Dell U2414H, RM859.

Seems this monitor have some issues like not able to display back the screen when coming back from sleep mode and not displaying full color range through Display Port connection? Is it still OK to buy it?
