I do not work in transwater but I have worked together with transwater people during the commissioning phase.
Have some gossip with the software guy and seems like he is travelling often around the SEA countries.
The metering system used in that fpso is GE.
So if u are in software team, u may have the chance to learn GE and can travel around.

Hi all bros here. I quit my job couple of months ago for travelling purpose. After all, I decided to start with O&G which seems to be more profitable.

I have prior experience with EPC in a chemical plant as a chemical/project engineer. How should I start or place myself in O&G industry?

Anyone would like to help? Thanks.

Technician u need to do physical work by your own hands...mean hand on....Field engineer more to arrange works for them, plan manpower, coordinate with onshore regarding the material required at offshore, solve site issue etc.

If can, ask for equal time off. Most international rotators get that. If you're working in your own home country (I assumed Malaysia), then cannot laa since not deem as rotating but on-call basis. 5:1 ratio is harsh as most guys in Mid-East on 6:4 (6 weeks on, 4 weeks off).

however for contractors its normal for 5:1.
In fact some do give 7:1 and but the longer you stay you do get more (example: 3 weeks on, 3+1 days.)
