Any offshore field engineers here? Im trying to compare my package which is one day time off per 5 working days offshore. So basically 1 month full offshore bout 6 days time off only.. How bout you guys?

Yea I'm on construction contractor side. Per day allowance isnt that great too. Competitors who gives better allowance will be offset with higher ratio (like EMAS is 6:1 if not mistaken). Quite jelly the client side package. Anyway my contract has 30 days annual leave, not much can complain though

Currently am a field/project engineer for a EPCI contractor, still in the early years of my career. Just wondering what are the possibility to enter oilfield services/drilling/operator side in the future? What kind of new experience/knowledge/applicability that I will be expecting?

At the same time looks like Saipem, McDermott, and few others contractor that i know off is downsizing.

All happen in south east asia region i believe.. so few big projects coming in

Plus the recent indonesia election also cause some disruptions on bid awards; push further the schedule lol.

my company now is actively making presence in latin america and india. And since all vessels are mob from HQ in singapore, so its still better than some mnc who segregate businesses in different regions xP
