well, for downloading the game, you can go to www.guildwars.com..To play the game, you need to buy it..however, once you buy it, the game is yours and you do not need to pay any monthly subscription fees for it..

Hey guys,

How's the latency on this game? I've tried WoW, and my IP address is ALWAYS the 219.xxx...

I'm worried that I'll be wasting my money buying this game if I can't play it because of lag.

Do let me know. Hopefully I'll be able to join smile.gif

both GW NA and europe is the same, it is just both are manufactured at different places respectively..and based on which server, which is north america (NA) server or which is europe server..however, you can still change to north america server if you are playing an europe account..and as for guild wars: prophecies and guild wars: factions..GW:P is the first episode of guild wars series while GW:F is the second episode of guild wars series..well, imo, it depends on you whether you want to buy GW:P and GW:F..if you are new to MMO, then i prefer you to buy GW:P..however if you have some experience with MMO, then i prefer you to buy GW:F..

btw, did anyone heard that skills from GW:P for each classes are for sale now??

moreover, yoshi/haneda, imho, can you make a short faq on the general information of guild wars as a reference for those who are interested on Guild Wars and eager to know more info about this game (like whether this game requires online fees onot, what is the requirement to play this game, what is the difference between GW:P and GW:F and future chapter, is GW:F standalone game, etc)? it is for easier references..hehe..

IMO I would suggest you get "Guild Wars : Factions" as the progression of the game (i.e. Level up, story) is faster compared to "Guild Wars : Prophecy". Only get GW : P if you really want access to some original skills & explorable areas and also you will only get the new profession Assassin & Ritualist in GW : F but not in GW : P (Unless you own both then your character can travel between the 2 continent Tyria (Prophecy) and Cantha(Factions).)

That's good news for those who's not getting Prophecy but still want the unique skills.

Yeah.... a FAQ sounds good as I notice there is quite a few newbie questions about 2 or 3 post apart. A FAQ will help answer a lot of questions but where should we put it ?

Yup, the skill is for sale at 9.99 USD. It unlock all skills for 1 class.....only. So if you're W/Mo for example and wanna unlock Primary and secondary, you gotta buy both.

Skills can be bought through GWStore(at login screen)

==============

If you like long storyline (rpg freak) go Prophecies, if you like short storyline and more PvP battles , go Faction. I got both. I went Prophecies first.

There's no different in Eu and Us version in gameplay. The only diff is that when you start your game firstime, you'll start your server according to your version. Eu start at Eu server etc.

You can change your server to others (Japan, Korea, US, Europe, pick one) FIVE times only. Once that's out, you'll stuck with that last server.... i think....

Most Malaysian are in US server..... even tho Japan/Korea are much nearer.

By the way, you can't meet others from a different server from your own, unless one of you change your server OR you guys meet up at International Server.

Phew... (plz correct me if i got the wrong/outdated info)

From what I understand from DarkHellSpawn's message, there are many servers to select from.

So does that mean I don't need the 218.xxx to play this game smoothly?

What kind of IPs do you guys play on?

Thanks in advance.

I really need to check this, because the game is rather expensive. Hope you all understand my situation smile.gif

just to clear things up, the skills pack are only for PVP char and u'll need prophecies in order to purchase it, faction account wont be able to buy it at the moment

MaugrimX: considering that u do not ve to pay monthly fees, it's actually quite cheap in the long run,

as for lag, well sometimes it lag, sometimes it doesnt, i can usually play on any IP, if i feel the line is extremely lag thn i'll just reconnect to a different one, but overall it's quite smooth

as for game content u can go to the link below, usually our local shop carry the UK version i think

Thanks for the info valho.

Hope that I'll be able to play lag free smile.gif The RM188 for the CD is pricey for me...

But I do realise in the long run, it would be cheaper than games such as WoW.

Hope to see you all in game soon !

What is the market price of Guilds War Pro & Fac Now and where can i get it ? Should buy the UK or US version any recomendations? Which is the best server to join in your humble opinion? what is this ip & smooth gameplay thingy ?

I'm interested in playing. RM189 is pretty reasonable in the long run. However I only can afford to buy one campaign for the moment, so should I buy Faction now or wait for Nightfall next month? If I buy Nightfall, do I still have access to faction's professions (assassin and ritualist)?

Since you can change server for a max of 5 times, EU or US version has no differences besides the box art.

you can't play this game with a gamepad, there's won't be enough buttons on it tongue.gif GW is using the basic WASD controls for movement.

You won't get to play assassin and ritualist professsion if you do not own factions.

According to anet, Nightfall is focus strongly on PvE content.. so if you are a junky for storyline, lore and roleplaying.. i recommend that you get Nightfall.
