ymjay, I bought mine at FotoData (Mid Valley), check my previous post. RM1400 cash, credit card add 3%, 0% installment add 6%. It's box set only, no bag and comes with 16MB Canon SD. You can get a bag from RM30 to RM160. SD is damn cheap. You can get 2GB for less than RM100.

You can hardly get any discount from Foto-Shangrila or Fotokem. The reason is the price is controlled by the HQ. Try Selangor Photography (Pertama Complex), Boeing Electronic (Sg. Wang) or FotoData (Mid Valley).

yup. i always use the viewfinder (act like a DSLR user?  sweat.gif ). i only use the lcd when taking shots which is impossible with viewfinder.  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
I found that I'm addicted to use the EVF biggrin.gif
The reason is that EVF gives better contrast as LCD is effected by the surrounding lightning, it's always washed off during the day.
By using the EVF, I found myself to be more focus on composing the shot, and not easily disturbed by something other than the shot I wants to take.
The only time not using EVF is taking at a very low angle, to keep myself cleaned smile.gif

My recent shots taken at Tasik Chini and Cherating. All taken through EVF except the one with boat and shell, taken at low angle, my cam nearly touched the sand.

But what you think about the service tht they provide?
Like claim warranty, their expertise in Camera knowledge....
The price is cheap, but they might changed the original part like battery....
(mayb i'm just over think of this la... )

By the way.. Guyz.. I was in sg wang today.. I scouted around for the lens adapter hood LAH DC20.. Some places were charging me RM150, some was RM120.. The weird thing is.. There is 2 BOING Photos shop in sg wang.. One was like in the middle of nowhere, kinda big and congested and the other is a proper shop in the concourse area near the phone stalls.. What's even weirder is, the BOING right in the middle of nowhere is said they do not carry such item, and the other BOING (the shop) is offering me RM99 for the LAH DC20, but they do not have ready stock.. I'm kinda confuse..

Or is there any suggestion where can I get the LAH DC 20 at a reasonable price? and also, can I use any other 58mm dslr lenses on the lens adapter? i doubt so right? please clarify for me.. I'm really noob at this.

Some picture taken using S3IS during a trip to india. All shoot using ISO 80-100, P mode. Occasionly Auto mode. So far sastify with the shoot. Only problem is not enough memory card. I only have 3GB of memory card.

I dont think S3IS still need another Tele-converter. since it's already 12x zoom.
Wht type of UV and Polarizer filter will u use??

Hi Sherren

Mind share with me how much you bought for the UV filters.
Pls correct me if i'm wrong.
UV filter is much more cheaper than Polarizer, right?

UV only block out the extra sun light / direct light to the camera.
and the Polarizer is to enhance the color of red/green/blue, right??

Actually, I've not own the camera yet...
still doing market and product research... tongue.gif blush.gif
Should I purchase the lens adapter when i purchase the camera? (this is wht i plan)
but ... i'm not sure wht kind of lens filter to purchase.
Still lack of knowledge on this ....

Jet, UV filter blocks UV, polarizer increase saturation. You can still take great photos without these two filters smile.gif
Polarizer reduce the light entering your lens, it's -EV effect.
UV is not really required other than to protect your lens againts scratches.

Hey shereen.. Mind if I ask where did u buy ur lens adapter hoodset? I'm kinda confused bout the lens measurement, this is bcoz on another s3is discussion on a foreign forum, they said they can mount sony lenses and other canon lenses on it.. Some even tried to mount a nikon TC-E15ED lens onto a Canon s3is.. Hmmm.. Really need some help of some gurus..

Hi Kelvin,

Really appreciate for your advice smile.gif
"Mayb" i will get a Lens Adapter and UV Lens for now...

But may i know wht's the price for the adapter and lens???
Seem like there's no site for price of all the adapter and lens. Mayb i'm just not found it yet...

My plan, in future, after familiar with all the camera basic skill and features.
i will purchase a wide angle lens biggrin.gif drool.gif

True, must more expensive. Mayb they wanna give others store the chances to sell their canon products gua...
But CANON Store did offer more warranty period.
I been there once, asking for the camera price n information. (in Mid Valley).
The price is extra 100-150, but they gave 3 year warranty...

is Warranty tht's important???
I'm owning a PDA Phone, warranty is very important cause it's easy to break down...
Mayb bcause i always overclock it, test with all kind of software and etc etc .. blush.gif sweat.gif

May I ask the S3IS can take how large the memory card? Can it take max 8GB SD card? I m thinking of buying 4GB or 8GB SD. But worry it cannot be use as I cannot return the card once I open it. What is this SDHC compare to normal type?
