Bugger, I damn frust d. My set up is DS4 on F3d BIOS, E6300, CVS 667mhz 2x1gb.

Vmch +0.3, PCIE +0.1, FSB +0.1. VDIMM +0.3, Vcore 1.4, FSB400, RAM 6,6,6,16, ratio at 2.5.

Silly thing will boot up 1st time after I set it. Then it will dual Prime for 10 hours or until whenever I stop it. Longest I tried was 13 hours b4 I stopped it thinking 13 hours is more than enuf to prove stability. Next time I boot up, it doesn't come on anymore. It keeps restarting n finally reverts back to 1.8ghz b4 booting up. F2, F3, F3d BIOS all same damn thing. vmad.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif

Any ideas guys? Funny thing is it will only boot up at either stock 266 or 400FSB. Anything in between it wont boot. rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif It will oni boot at 400FSB, 2.5 ram ratio. Weird lar this gigabyte mobo. Must b the mobo coz the CPU n RAM can Prime for ages.

That requires a BIOS fix which was announced at XS Forums under Intel section. It's a case of cold boots if I'm not mistaken

and DS3 FAQ's

try reset BIOS to stock and then fresh flash and load it back to default. Remember, the gigabyte BIOS has a abkup BIOS setting which is probably why it's gone siao edi.

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I've broken tru the Gaygabyte's barrier. I tried F3B which turned out even worse than F3D. F3B wudnt even boot the 1st time at 2.8ghz. So I flashed it back to F3D which allowed me to boot up 1st time at 2.8ghz n Prime with total stability. Then for sum reason it allowed me to boot at 1:1 ram ratio which puts it at 800mhz n voila! Previously it wudn boot at 1:1 ratio. Weird.

I've now booted 11 times without fail. Gonna Dual Prime all night long tonight. rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif The OC gods haf finally smiled on me. laugh.gif

Probably the F3D you got was corrupted since you changed the settings a few times. The old DFi nForce 2 boards had dead BIO's situations beacuse of constantly fiddling with the settings. Don't worry about dead BIOS but it's just a reminder that sometimes it's due to corrupted BIO's checksums

ddr1000 @ 4-4-4-16! great ram u got there~! but maybe now they're waiting for new mobo biggrin.gif

updated:

was cleaning my rack and found some old fans unused. So i hook a 'turtle' uv coolermaster 80mm fan beside the gfx to provide some airflow at my hot x1900xtx and maybe to my northbridge as well..

then i put a fast speed small AMD athlon barton fan on top of the heatsink at the mosfet (look at top left of my mobo)

and i put a nice blue led gigabyte fan just behind my x1900xtx to cool down the voltage regulator which is idling at 60c ++ ..

dunno whether these fan does help or not but it's better than let them lay around inside my closet laugh.gif biggrin.gif

aha btw, i just broke PI 1m 15secs with my E6600 @ 3.29ghz. short 1fsb to make it 3.3ghz.. wrong calculation laugh.gif

Bro, that's real class....

cheers.gif

Irenic, the Northbridge is warm when there is a simple fan blowing towards it. Greatly help in stability....
