Getting Started

Hi,
I would like to share my thought on 2500. I know a lot of people who are earning around that from working in a callcenter before. Some of them are coming down everyday from JB to work here by motorcycle or car pooling. This are the people who are having the blast. Their lifestyle in JB is an envy. Off course this works because they dont have to work on weekends.
But some of them are staying locally especially those from far north that are not used to the JB lifestyle and some girls just don't like the hassle. Are they having a hard time and living a poor life? No! Because happiness in the end for youngsters is all about what friends you have.
First few months here might be bad esspecially the first month where all your money in your saving are suddenly devided by 2.5 but things will only goes well from there. Mix more and get more friends, Singapore is a full modern city, entertainments are everywhere and some are really affordable. Try to get a cheaper room, mix around and dont clamp up in your room. Saving a little money and by year end, you can travel oversea comfortably because Sgd rate is good

QUOTE(seantang @ Jun 1 2014, 03:14 PM) $2-4k if he's still an exec after 7-10 years (there are many like these by the way), to $7-15k if he's already a manager to director (these guys are far fewer). Wow, 2-4k is kinda low. But I guess the same thing does happen in Malaysia as well. But 7-15k is kinda attractive for me. Back in 2010 I did tried to apply to Singapore. Send in many application but none came back. Thus I'm worried is it because I only have an accounting degree from UTAR thus not favorable by SG employers. Subsequently got another job in MY till now. Now I'm looking at SG again.

Well, only time will tell if you're in the 2-4 category or 7-15 category. The only choice you have is to attempt or not to attempt.

Guarantee negative returns during the life of the car, but after 9 more years can sell as scrap metals. If metals go up few thousand folds then you tycoon. Actually it also depends on company. Some small or mid chinaman company will only pay up to 5k-6k or less for managerial level. On the other end of the scale, exec can easily earn 7-12k in MNC in a regional role or banking. This post has been edited by robertchoo: Jun 2 2014, 12:25 AM
