Won't be long since the SAPPHIRE VAPOR-X R9 290X 4GB GDDR5 TRI-X OC (UEFI) was launched recently...with similar core clock speed as the msi lightning but ram speed at 5640.

As a side note: I hav given up on idea of acquiring the R9 295X2 after weighing on the overall pros and cons of the card. Nice try/attempt for AMD on the 295 but it ought to be better (refined)...especially aiming for the high end market.

5970 - great card at the time launched
6990 - so so only....it's noisy
7990 - late to enter the market

Don't worry, this should be poisonless to most ppl here. its Dual core = 295X2.
hence, not many ppl will be able to afford or will go for it. its a niche market for enthusiast.

Oh, it's dual core. I thought it's just a unique customized R9 290X, same like some of the previous Devil series. Missed out the "dual core" wording.

That's why I mentioned the 7990 Devil 13 Edition. It was one ugly ass mofo.

oh no i wanna read it, i go search it on Selling site review... if they verify their complain regarding Gpu should take it as clue or point do note that if you want MSI R9 290X Lightning try consider Powercolor R9 290x PCS+ as it Equal.. (my opinion except price )

I'm glad the prices are falling down to normal, maybe mining dont need so much GPU power liao

hmm i notice BEST OC Driver for my R9 290X is 13.12 ... 14 x x just get me BlackScreen and Gpu Flux...

Best OC driver for me is 13.2, only good in 3DMark though.

Guys, is there any other software to check VRM temp? As my GPU-Z not showing the VRM. Change the dpi setting also no go.

Try HWiNFO. MSI Afterburner can't show it?

Isn't the reference 295X using AIO watercool? Why Powercolor made it into air cooler instead a AIO watercool with 240 rads?

i''m not sure about air cooler. Since AMD ref is with watercooler, what will be the pricing for the Air cooler? and how is the temp?
i think its better to go for the ref 295X2 than air cooler for this monster.
