No, the ZA/FK Zowies are more like the SS Sensei in shape, not like the DA at all. They are still different though, as they do not have the same width, height, coating, switches, latency and sensor.

Zowie's equivalent to the DA is the EC series.

I cannot comment on the ZA yet, since somehow poslaju didn't manage to post it to me today. So no comparisons between it and the DA for now.

Guys my 2011 Razer DA BE starting to have some double click issues, hence I'm looking for a replacement. Served me well for 5 years. biggrin.gif

Palm Grip user, love the comfort of DA but Open to different brands, Zowie seems promising any recommendations?

ZA12 if you need the size of the DA. It is almost entirely different in feel though, so understand that.

Been using the ZA12 for 2 weeks now, almost prepped up for my review. It's a good mouse so far, not really much qualms about it other than the mouse feets being a little too thin for my tastes. Remedied by getting some Hyperglides and sticking them over though.

Yes, the original DA 1.8 was my main mouse for 5+ years before I finally gave up on it (scroll wheel was pretty much dead, coating was peeling like snake's dead skin lol).

I did try other mices during my use with the DA, but always went back to it because of how consistent it was in performance. Too bad, that was the last great mouse Razer made. Everything after that started to go down hill.

Definitely check out the ZA12. Otherwise, if you want the same form factor, the Zowie EC2 is pretty much as close as you can get to a DA BE. They still use different switches and scroll wheel though, as well as the sensor.

Pretty good mouse, but wouldn't call it great. Problem with the XTD Optical is that it has some smoothing over 900dpi, it's not very noticeable if you aren't a twitch gamer who plays above 1600dpi, but it's there.

The other qualm that I have is the scroll wheel, I found that it is quite inconsistent between different batches. You either get a very mushy scroll wheel where it is difficult to feel the steps when scrolling or you get one which is tactile and rigid.
I don't know if Roccat has fixed this issue or not, but it certainly was a turn-off for me back when they released it.

Switches are from Omron, don't remember which model though. But IINM, it's the usual D2FC-F-7N which requires very little force to click. Not my personal favourite to be honest, always had issues double clicking due to heavy fingers lol.

Yeah, I do think that those with heavy fingers should go for something like Huano switches. They have a lot more feedback, but the actuation force is also significantly higher than any Omron switch. There are caveats to Huano switches though, as it depends heavily on the shell rigidity of the mouse to determine amount of force needed to click.

An example would be how I compared the Zowie FK1/2 to the ZA12/13. They use the EXACT same switches, but the shell of the mouse is different. It's thinner on the ZA series at the front end, thus the ZA has less resistance than the FK eventhough they have the same components.

I came from the Mionix Avior/Naos 7000, they have some of the softest shell that I've ever seen and used on a mouse. Coupled with the Omron D2FC-F-7N, I've had way too many accidental double clicks or left +right clicking simulatenously. laugh.gif

One final note is that the harder the switches, the more latency (naturally) there is when clicking. The Zowie FK1/2 had issues with click latency too in fact, of which fortunately is fixed on the ZA.
