OK, question.
After I hacked my STB, I able to enter Google Play.
But the weird thing is, this STB does not compatible with most apps, including well-known YouTube app!

I had to do custom apps flashing (which of course copy it into /system directory which makes it impossible to uninstall unless someone can provide me any rooting method)

And then something more weird happen.
1. Google Play Service is ONLY install for old version. (I had to flash the latest one in order to make YouTube app to work)
2. Some apps crash using this method. (Maybe its not compatible for /system directory)
EX-> iQuran Lite; installed via Google Play = OK
iQuran Pro; installed via flashing = CRASHED / FORCED CLOSE

okay here's the issue. the program is running in system, so it will crash. i'm trying to find a way to enable unknown source install.

for youtube, play store identified the hypptv as a tablet without 3D apps support. so the support is limited.

root is already there la aiyoo.

gapps tu mmg dh signed..xyah sign pakai java lagi dah. kalau nak sign baru download Java Runtime.

I'm working on custom firmware that is much more stable than current stock firmware. After I finish I will release, of course.

what is address for hypptv?

hi all

i just installed unifi last friday and noticed the STB same as streamyx. I also found there are wireless setting to connect from STB to router. Does this mean i can use the wireless to connect for Hypptv? i tried to coonect to my wifi SSID, it's connected then i remove the UTP cable. Then tried to watch Hypptv using wireless but it's just showing homepage of hypptv. so just wondering if the wireless setting can be use for Hypptv?

create vlan 500 (Internet) and 600 (IPTV).
create 2 wireless ssid - 1 for vlan 500, 1 for vlan 600.
connect your hypptv stb to vlan 600 ssid.
connect your normal internet surfing gadget to vlan 500 ssid.

I recently installed Streamyx came with this STB. I wonder if there's a way to get the STB box to jump straight from power on to display the TV (like a normal TV). Right now, I have go through a long painful process to turn on, start hypptv app, wait for TV to display, press the Live TV button -- else you can't even change channels with the ch buttons. My gf is complaining it's too complicated to just watch my TV, which I agree.

At least I hope akifrabbani's custom firmware can fix this.

i cannot install youtube via playstore...it says device not compatible...how come?

HELP, my HyppTV STB for Streamyx is stucked on bootloop after sudden blackout at my house.
I have tried many times pressing power button, but it would not allow me to boot to recovery menu.

What should I do?

I flashed the gapps... problem is i can't sign in using my account in playstore, it says can't established a reliable connection to server, but i can browse using browser... help please...

and is it hyppTV resolutions are adjust base on connection?
i'm using homeplug to connect my STB and it's only 480i... even in HD channel... i can't get anything above that.. 720p for me is good enough..

seems like it bricked, don't think they can help if you can't even get into recovery.
you may try to buy a replacement or call unifi to try your luck.

Using OpenWRT on my DIR825. I tried to setup the IPTV and bridge it with wireless interface. I set the vlan to 600 and tagged on WAN port. I bridge this vlan with the wireless interface. On the STB i set to connect via wifi. On the
"Network Diagnostic Tool" page, i can see all the ip address (not my local 192 IP but starting from 10.29.x.x), and other info like gateway address n active dns ip. Access mode set to dhcp.

The test is all pass. When i go into hypptv i manage to see the Guide and the tv channel name n what is playing. But I cannot see the content itself and there is a picture of a satelite dish with a small X on it.

Any idea what setting I got wrong?

I notice that some of you guys has been able to connect via wifi thru the original router. I plug the original router in and under the WAN for IPTV i check the SSID 1 and unchecked the SSID 1 on PPPoE. I have the same result as the OpenWRT router. I think there might be some limitation when it comes to IPTV type data. Maybe something to do with UDP or multicast. Not so sure. Coz it work fine for both router using the LAN.

Beacuse everytime you flash an app, it will directly install to system directory...

You need to flash gapps package file from the front page...

Hi, I can surf only Youtube from internet browser in STB but cannot surf other website.

But when I enable WLAN and connected to it, I can access to all website but very slow. The IP remains unchanged.

Any1 has idea about this? My intention is to surf all websites without enabling WLAN so I can enjoy fast browsing using wired STB connection from my TV.

Weirdly, unifi CS keep saying I cant access to internet browsing via STB.

your STB wired LAN is plug to the IPTV port or not? If yes then u cannot surf web. If you plug to any of the vlan 500 LAN port you should be able too (in theory). You can surf with WLAN is because the WLAN is connected to vlan 500. IPTV is on VLAN 600.

yes.it's actually IPTV port instead of direct internet port. but need to change port everytime want to watch ptv and direct internet access. is there anyway i can do both (watch iptv and browse) using the same port?

Maybe with a custom router firmware you can try to sent the vlan500 traffic to the iptv port too.. i not sure if it will work or not.

Saya ada jumpa app bernama Secure Settings kt Play Store dan boleh install. Lepas tu, saya ada terjumpa setting untuk 'enable unknown' , tetapi dia memerlukan helper apk. Selepas flash-install helper tu, dah boleh enable, tapi macam tak ada effect lak. Sigh..... Ingatkan dapat la unlock unknown sources tu.

P/S : Lepas ni nak try modify build.prop dia la. Bole la dapat lagi byk app support kt Play Store.

Anybody managed to install a working video player apps?

Most of video player I try to install crashed.

I do managed to flash install MX Player on the decoder. Install the codec as well and you have one of the best video player running in your decoder. I used Aptoid to install it BTW.

can u share to us how u do it ?
i hv tried but failed.

if i can have ES file manager or any file manager that can read from network filepath + MX player, then my home media would be perfect.

Sorry for the late reply as I have been working and only at home at night.
Allow me to try and give you the simplest solution for the problem.

The simplest way to do that will be installing an app called Aptoide on your decoder. This will allow you to install many application that could not be found by using google play store.
The installer file can be obtained through here.
Here is my step on installing the Aptoide and then installs other apps.

1. Download the zip file and put it inside your pendrive. Your pendrive must be formatted as FAT/FAT32 or it will not work. (Mine is 8GB FAT32)

2. Plug-in your pendrive into the USB port behind the decoder.

3. Turn on the decoder with the ON button behind the decoder (NOT in the front) while holding the red ON button on the remote control. Hold it until it enters recovery mode.

4. After entering recovery mode, choose "Install update from external storage". Then choose the zip file that you have put inside the pendrive.

5. Let it install for awhile. After successfully installed, it will restart by itself.

6. After restart. go to "My Application" menu and you should see Aptoide app icon. Open it, find and install ES File Explorer and MX Player.

7. Open the MX Player. The app will prompt you to download the codec. Accept it and then choose to open with Aptoide. Install the decoder and then you have a working MX Player.

There you have it. If you have successfully follow these steps, then you will have a free media player for your home that are able to play almost all format with no hassle (It is able to play 1080p videos). You can also install other app such as music player or youtube player to increase the experience of using your decoder through Aptoide.

Well, that's it from me. I hope that this guide helps some people in installing their own apps in their decoder. I'm off.

I'm not really sure as I had already rooted my decoder before installing Aptoide but AFAIK, you do not need to have root to install and run Aptoide.

i know there is this hyppTV everywhere app but is using the internet, the hyppTV apps in the STB is runing on the dedicated vla 600.

can we extract the HyppTV apps and install in other android?

happen to me too.. vlan problem.. .. the best way to deal with this problem is change with other router.. i use TP-Link TL-WR1043ND v1 ( v2 work just fine.. i just specific the version just in case u wanna custom firmware the router later.. ).. just make sure you look at the box that write " Supports unifi ".. same goes to other brand of router if ur looking for 1..

i dont think it gonna work.. cause i think TM identify your HyppTV device by the MAC address and ur user/pass.. if u use other device with the same user/pass.. its still wont work.. since u have different MAC address..

maybe it will work if u hack and change your other device MAC address.. ..

Tried your way. but STB just don't allow me to install other software as it keep blocking installer from other market except play store. any idea how to solve this?

Changing MAC address will be the easy part. the hard part is to run it on other android version.

i was thinking run on the android X86 since i got spare PC. i can make my PC dual boot.

then i can run the IPTV from that PC, if we can extract the IPTV app and install in my X86 android.

NEED your HELP friend.... after i successfully install HyppTV-EC6106V5-GApps-All and restart my stb... all the app is in my application. i open the playstore and required to keyin email and i choice as existing user. i keyin my email username n password. after a few second the error appear 'can't established a reliable connection to server' but in web browser i still can browse. So untill now i cant open my play store.... can someone help me to solve my problem.

there is something strange to me...
I change the display setting in my hypptv box under "Settings" option and change from 720p/60 to 1080p/60

My TV showed that now it is in 1080p/60 mode.. After I select HyppTV and going to see LUKE HD then my TV blackout a while and TV now showed only 480p..

If I press Home button in my remote, my TV change back to 1080p/60

How to solve this ?

hello everyone, i am new in forum. Tomorrow the tm guy comes to install router, hypptv stb etc. I dont want any cables on my walls so i was wondering if the stb has built-in wifi or i can get a usb wifi antenna so i can connect to the router wirelessly. I want to have the router near my desktop computer coz i want it connected via ethernet.

The latest version of the Huawei EC6106V5 has built-in wifi.

I was given one unit by TM when I had UniFi installed, but I think the wifi connection is only meant for Streamyx.

But if they give me the Huawei EC6106V5 i will be able watch tv via wifi right? all devices in 2014 have wifi...how they can give ip tv without wifi.

- IPTV.. u need to use the LAN on port 4..
- Surfing / streaming / your -- NAS.. u need to use the build-in WiFi..

Note :
- The EC6106V5 decoder have 2 network device.. the LAN port and build-in WiFi..
- You can connect both ( LAN & WiFi ) at the same time.. because its a different network.. the only problem is that.. later u will have a problem with the IPTV decoder ( after reboot the decoder or reboot the main router ).. this is due to the main router [ RG4332 ] problem.. the only solution is to buy a new router which support unifi..
