Hi, can any one can share System Upgrade link for STB EC6106V5 for Unifi user?

bcoz Streamyx user firmware differ menu.

Hi all, i will show step-by-step:

IPTV STB EC6106V5 for Unifi and Streamyx user are same but different firmware. The different is on the menu.
On Streamyx STB (TVOS) have 12 menu, on Unifi STB have 13 menu.

Here is IPTV STB image.




1. First go to HOME menu button on your remote. It will appear this menu.



and then press on the gear (settings) button.


2. Now scroll down to "System Upgrade" and press OK on remote button.




3. Inside "System Upgrade" you will see it ask for password. Password are 3008. Then press down to "Confirm" and press OK on remote button.




4. Inside "Set Upgrade" it has "Server Address" and copy the url , and press left or back to exit.

can someone show how to goto the upgrade link for unifi STB? which option to get the link upgrade?

hi goto : Setting > System Upgrade > (password) > comfirm > Server Address {http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx}

I don't understand what you mean.
Do you mean that we can get the URL from our HyppTV unit?

If you factory reset the HyppTv, the Server Address will be set to download the setting for Streamyx's HyppTV.
So right now we just need the link TM set for UniFi users on an untouched STB.

I bit the bullet and finally called TM.
If you somehow had the firmware with no unifi support, plug the STB into any port besides port 4, go to system upgrade, enter http://1.9.22.82:8002 and tick Upgrade Now.
The system will download the proper firmware and setting for your STB.

EDIT: The correct address is http://1.9.22.82:8082
Thanks to @Zir for starting this thread and @iddeen for bitting the bullet. You both really saved my ass from being scolded ny my mom for spoiling her TV channels.
I've called UniFi before and they can only say need send technician down first.
Wasted my $ calling 1300881221.

To re-cap:

RESTORE ORIGINAL F/W after messing up system/app
1) Go to recovery
2) Choose restore update.zip from backup option
3) S/W version is now IPTV STB V100R003C01LMYTa1 Streamyx only
SYSTEM UPGRADE to UniFi compatible version
1) Follow @Zir and @iddeen's instruction. Version now is IPTV STB V100R003C01LMYTa3
2) Change back to IPTV port at router.
3) Go IPTV setting change Field Switcher to HyppTV(UniFi). Default is Streamyx.
4) Back to main screen click HyppTV and key in login details. Call UniFi to obtain if installer tak ada bagi.

Have done per your instruction
Change Server Address to http://1.9.22.82:8002
Change port at router to normal Internet port
Tick Upgrade Now

However, the bar below says

Start the backup upgrade detection
Fail to connect the upgrade server
Start the System upgrade detection
Fail to connect the upgrade server

Can you please advise on the setting/step that I may have done wrong.

Hi all, i manage to upgrade to UNIFI firmware. Thanks to @millenniummonkey show step-by-step and i will add some more step.

Here i add another second method if @millenniummonkey method din't work. This will be future documentation for who messing with the firmware.


1. Ensure your router L7router is "DEFAULT UNIFI" DNS setting, otherwise this method will not work.

First DNS 1.9.1.9
Second DNS 202.188.0.133

For those is not familiar with changing DNS here is the link :

2. Ensure your STB is connected to any port except port4 it's for IPTV connection. We need direct internet access.


3. Goto About menu. Ensure your App Version is v80163129. If else, please upgrade with default STB Streamyx configuration.

4. Now you are ready to upgrade your STB Streamyx to STB UNIFI firmware.

i. Goto "System Upgrade"
ii. On the Server Address filed input this address "http://1.9.22.82:8082" and press confirm.
iii. Tick on "Upgrade Now"
iv. It should automatically starting a download bar graph and start downloading STB UNIFI.
v. After it finish downloading, it will automatically restart STB and start android recovery.
vi. Wait until it started home screen.


5. You now can see on About menu, your App Version is successfully upgrade to v80163311.



6. Now change back to IPTV port no.4 at router.

7. Go IPTV setting change Field Switcher to HyppTV(UniFi). [Default Streamyx]


8. Back to main screen click HyppTV and key in login details. Call UniFi to obtain if installer tak ada bagi.

9. It will reboot automatically to reconfigure system.

10. Done!!
