okay here's the issue. the program is running in system, so it will crash. i'm trying to find a way to enable unknown source install.

for youtube, play store identified the hypptv as a tablet without 3D apps support. so the support is limited.

root is already there la aiyoo.

sorry guys, i'm still busy with SPM..

heard HyppTV submit patch to block apps installation? :v :v don't worry I got the decoder for my own use, so I will find a fix :v in the meantime use the root method to install any apps :v

Congrats @lifeisjustgreat for his effort to enable unknown source in HyppTV Stock Firmware.. hehe tqvm bro you lessen my burden to 999x rclxms.gif

For future plans in this HyppTV, any efforts to have custom firmware in this box is we must compile a custom recovery first. rclxm9.gif but that still require an extra set-top-box since I'm actively use mine for Showbox.

So now I need to find recovery.img from stock, compile it to clockworkmod and get ADB from UART inside HyppTV. But that will require me to open everything rclxub.gif

Anyone willing to give extra set-top-box? brows.gif EC6106V5 only okay laugh.gif

P.S: Older version than EC6106V5 WILL NOT SUPPORT ANY ANDROID APPS. It's some kind of SoC linux like Astro one...got UART but don't know what to tinker with yawn.gif

P.P.S: I'm really busy lo..don't expect custom firmware in the mean time shakehead.gif

Seems like some (not all) users are blocked from flashing new update files. Will take a look soon. Sorry guys, I tried my best but this box is locked to the core, which means I can't build new firmware (even modifying an existing one, which can render the decoder useless) if I don't have the kernel source.

Anyone can help me contact Huawei regarding the source code?

And for the new HyppTV STB which looked like Apple TV, I have been told about it from some TM installer. I will try my best to get my hands on it sooner. I'm going to enter college in this month, so cannot promise anything. cry.gif

P.S: If someone have extra decoders (new model) can email me at akif@rabbani.my ASAP.

Hi everyone,

Currently I'm busy with college, since I'm still in foundation.

I already acknowledged the patch, still working on it. Maybe-or maybe not we will see this box get exploited since HyppTV recovery now require signed key to install recovery on it. Best workaround for those who still not updated - is to disable the auto update.

Another option is to hardware-level flashing, but that requires opening the STB, hooking up a UART, accessing the serial console and so on. This method cannot be applied by normal end-users, which is us.

I will try to research more on this STB, since all my other exploits all requires recovery mode. But I can't promise when.

For those IPTV apps users, you can get decent Android box as cheap as RM150 online, with more decent specs than current HyppTV EC6106V5. Or just upgrade to EC6108V8 which is better.
