QUOTE(slimfox @ Apr 2 2014, 01:43 AM) I would advise that you read up about the basics of picture composition. Most importantly currently get to know your camera and its functions well. Like how to change a setting fast (on the fly). Ya taking lots of pictures really helps. After a while it will all just gel up and you will be taking good photos QUOTE(gerald7 @ Apr 2 2014, 08:19 AM) ChaosSixth no worries la.. im still snap shooting after 6 years as long as you happi Appreciate advises from sifu here make me more "fire" up to read and take more pictures

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Apr 2 2014, 12:44 AM) Don't worry man, my 1st few thousand photos were very bad as well haha You'll slowly learn about composition, lighting and post-processing along the way~ In fact, its good that you have already started using LR while you learn your photography, more efficient I don't have any phone shots T___T But I do have some camera shots. Just for your reference, I'm still pretty noob at this: Keep it up~ Spotted. Alienware wor. And congratz u still are the top spammer.

I'm just sharing my experiences with you only la. Funny thing is that you will find that some of your experimental shots might turn out to be fabulous (by fluke ). Enjoy yourself!

QUOTE(f5calvin @ Apr 2 2014, 01:56 AM) i think it's sharp n accurate for this picture(using centre focus point) Sigma 50mm 1.4 on D610. i usually use only middle focus point, since the other cross type focus point oso vy close to middle one, not much difference. besides, the outer focus points are less accurate , i dont feel safe using them. yeah, can use liveview too, or face detection so that u no need recompose or select where to focus. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «
oh that's how to do it.. new info.. hmm.. if it's close, why not use liveview? thought it's slower n sometimes i find it blur. i think my handshake more on liveview.. LV is just too slow on my D800

just wondering, post processing is it important? for my level now (newbie) , i think i should focus more onto getting better shots than editing. isnt it? I'm a newbie, for me, I focus develop my skill and understanding my camera system. play around with camera and enjoy it. editing is one thing to improve the quality. I'm not enjoy so much to sit around for long time to edit a pic. so I choose to snap a pic. IMHO

just wondering, post processing is it important? for my level now (newbie) , i think i should focus more onto getting better shots than editing. isnt it? I think post-processing has become an essential part of photography already The higher you go, the more processing work you'll learn and apply Its very hard to produce a photo that stands out without any post-processing This is also one of the reasons why Adobe is being sued for "distorting reality" But this is life la haha... we all love Pacific Rim right? lol

Rarely use it... normally use it at Sepang to reduce shutter speed instead for the CPL effect cause on my UWA it usually only block light off certain patch of the skies only, ugly!
