Don't worry man, my 1st few thousand photos were very bad as well haha  laugh.gif
You'll slowly learn about composition, lighting and post-processing along the way~
In fact, its good that you have already started using LR while you learn your photography, more efficient  thumbup.gif

I don't have any phone shots T___T
But I do have some camera shots. Just for your reference, I'm still pretty noob at this:

Saw your photos of your taiwan trip.. awesome shot.. rclxms.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

I was wondering how did you do the effect for like vintage feel.. not sure how to describe but is like yellow, greenish feel to all the photos.. mind share the process of it?

For example the last photo with your SB700, the grainny feel to it.. nod.gif nod.gif

Side question : what camera stand is that? looking for one with light weight for my upcoming trip~

Thanks for taking your time to look at the photos mate notworthy.gif notworthy.gif
If you want to see the full album, with descriptions and itinerary, do feel free to add me on FaceBook haha~ Was too lazy to retype captions for Flickr laugh.gif

Ahh, I've been trying to learn this effect for quite some time too haha... asked around but no one seems to know or want to help T___T

Its very simple actually haha, you simply need to (Lightroom 5) pull the left end of the tone curve up.. that will make the black color lighter (should be able to get similar effect by increasing the "Blacks" bar just below "Whites"), thus giving the effect , at the same time (depending on the amount of light in your photo), you decrease "Highlights", "Shadows" and "Whites".
After this, do some minor tweaks until you get the effect you want icon_rolleyes.gif Can adjust "Temps" and "Tints" too, usually I will increase the Yellows by a bit

I usually like to increase the Hues of Yellow and Green by a bit (~+5-+10) if there are greeneries (tree, bush etc.) in the shot. This of course, depends on your personal preference, I prefer greenish photos over yellow... At this time I only know how to really tweak Yellows and Greens, still practising with other colors icon_rolleyes.gif

Sorry if unclear haha, its a bit hard to generalize laugh.gif
Different photos will require different "magnitude" of tweaking haha... takes time to learn and apply

Good eyes mate!
Its a 1.7kg SIRUI, I've purposely chose this one because its light, small, sturdy, and at the same time doesn't cost a bomb like Carbon Fibre ones do haha laugh.gif
I love this tripod~ Only weakness is that it cannot reach very tall height, probably around 140-150cm only, which is not bad la haha

Ya been there last year where I still don't own a DSLR yet, using DC and relying my friend to take those good shot.
and that's the time it got me hooked up in photography, and here I am, burning time and money to learn to take good photos... haha

Yup, super friendly locals, nice food and place, but I went there on Winter, so... RAIN~ rclxub.gif still nice experience thou, especially the ladies.. tongue.gif

So now I'm preparing my skills and gear for Japan in May.. drool.gif

ah, the highlights, shadows and whites.. I try to do this with temp and tints and its look ugly.. cry.gif
Later try it on some expo shot I had..

same I also used to edit photo 1 by 1 with different settings to suit each condition of the photos... but time consuming..

Sirui which model?

Wow, didn't know Taiwan had such a huge impact in your quest for photography haha thumbup.gif
I'm sure you'll take way better photos now thumbup.gif
Japan's very beautiful during this time right? Nice yo hehe~

For the highlights, shadows and whites, I usually decrease them if the photo is under bright sunlight. If indoors, then increase them haha Sorry missed out just now laugh.gif But again, how much to tweak varies between photos ya~

It took me 10 days to finish editing my 10-days Taiwan trip photos too hehe, but its totally worth it la~

I can't remember the exact model haha, but its under this series:

smile.gif No la, Taiwan > Friend's awesome shot > jealous > wanted to be the cool kid > buy DSLR > rust at home > still cool and learning from every opportunity I have.. tongue.gif
well now should be decent gua.. at least I know how to work on ISO x Aperture x Shutter Speed x EV~ Still learning composition and framing and editing..
Erm, April is sakura blossom, I go on May, and from my homework's data, is has nothing there at that time.. weather is around 20-25 ish.. so, is still unknown on what I can find that time..

You went for vacation and take photos using RAW? I was wondering is my 3 x 8gb class 6 memory enough or not.. hmm.gif

10 days is fast for those quality, well practice more to improve efficiency.

Rm700... cry.gif

Haha, you are being humble man laugh.gif
At least you don't just buy and shelf it without using it at all, and that's good enough~
Can la, your photos are good ma~

Well, it doesn't have to be flowering season, the culture/environment etc. there alone will already make your shots stand out since we don't often get to see shots like that, so don't worry too much haha~ Enjoy the moment! thumbup.gif

Yeah, I always shoot in RAW haha... especially during trips oh, keep as memory ^___^ I don't get to go vacation that often also lol

Maybe can try to review, filter and delete photos during the trip, so that you have more space + don't have to filter them at one go after you're back from the trip icon_rolleyes.gif

Ehh... I bought for ~RM300 something only bro laugh.gif
