I'm very interested to know more about the racechips and how it affects performance and fuel consumption. Do share with us your findings and experience
To my humble knowledge, an engine must be tuned to have the right AFR at all rev range, suitably for its application. By doing fuel remap, and smoothing the torque curve, I should be able to produce an engine suitable to my driving style.
In the end achieving better efficiency, thus saving fuel.
If I'm right and fuel consumption does improve, I could earn back the investment within a few years, or faster if petrol price increase. That and a better driving experience, priceless.
