1) Anyone know the location of external temperature sensor for Preve CFE?
(Minta tanya dimana lokasi sensor suhu luaran di Preve CFE?)
2) May I know what's the different between Preve CFE's "Climatic Control" vs those model that do not have this feature?

Will I lose 55% ncd if I late renew my car insurance n road tax?  The in advance

Some yes some not. At least on myeg, that is the case. With Etiqa in MyEG, we will lose NCB but not with RHB.

I dont think Preve/Suprima can check outside weather temperature..

U r right, there's no temperature meter in the car, but the question is whether there's this outside temperature sensor, this will decide whether the "Climatic Control" feature is for real or fake because this system will need an outside Temperature sensor to function properly.

Auto Climate control measures cabin temperature, not outside temperature.

Why external sensor needed?

You just need to "sense" the internal °C to tell if it has reached the desired °C and if it should continue to "pump" or not.

Okay, an update. I once made a comment that the Preve Turbo's top speed is about 180km/h as the engine sounds like it's going to blow up at that point. Just early this morning I managed to go past 200km/h, around 205km/h or 210km/h. Must be due to some new music I was playing at that time that adds to the mood(The Fray and Coldplay).

Coincidentally a Toyota Camry was also doing around 200km/h trying to catch up.

Probably also the effect of the cooler air temperature due to current rainy season. I can feel the car effortlessly accelerating right after a long heavy rain. Though I don't go fast due to slippery road, I can feel the acceleration is smoother.

its a known fact that the proton cfe intake temp is very high.. in the 50C... so colder temp lower intake temp.. more powahhh... but turbo generally like cool but dry air.. not cool and humid air like ours..

I have Torque and bluetooth OBD2 adaptor. In clear air, cruising at 80 kph, the Intake Air Temp (IAT) is 40*C. During traffic jams, it goes to 75*C. That seems quite hot, but once you start moving it quickly goes down back to 40*C.

well.. 40 degrees C is still high.. the timing is probably retarded...
most turbo with intercooler aims to get IAT near or below ambient temp..
a cooler IAT is probably more beneficial to the engine..

IINM Saga's intake temp also hovers around 40°c-50°c most of the time, I think it's pretty normal lah.

75°c is quite hot sweat.gif

I'm sure it was retarded. I was cruising at 80 kph, steady state, low load, closed loop. I like to know these things so that I know what is normal for the car. That way, I can get advance warning when something is going to go wrong by looking at the data.

75*C was during traffic jam. It is a turbo car, so it is hotter. You a not moving, thus you get heat soak. You are taking in hot air heated by exhaust gasses from cars around you. So yeah, traffic jams are bad. tongue.gif

Is it necessary? I feel the performance is adequate for a family sedan. Even when heat soaked, the cooling system is good enough to keep the temps where they should be, and the performance does not degrade too much.

yes the cooling systems is doing fine.. and we dont feel much degradation.. but isn't it better to have a cooler engine?
might prolong its lifespan aswell..
when its retarded, we are losing power.. and affecting our fuel economy...
i very much like my engine when its cool...
