Previously bought a KL plate one about 2 months back. Essentially my daily driver.

Last week, I bought another Savvy. This time a Penang plate one. Overall a steal as previous owner repaired the AMT system and replaced the timing belt before the sale. Have all the paperwork. Only issue now is the loud noise from the AC compressor. Very noisy but AC is very cold. This one will be for modding.

Hello, all. Please give me your advise if I should repair malfunctioning AMT of my Savvy, sell it in this stage, or else. I am in Kota Kinabalu and have Savvy 1.2 AMT I bought in 2010. I have experienced the common problems of AMT and let the local workshops repair them. Since last week, AMT light was occasionally on, and I can't engage the gear to Drive or Reverse from Neutral. It was getting worse and now it is almost impossible to engage gear to Drive continuously.

I brought the car to the workshop which had fixed a previous problem of the AMT (though it was not perfect work). They tried to fix second hand clutch pump but it didn't work. Then they suspected the ECU might be the culprit. At last they suggested me to replace the whole AMT robotic set with second hand parts shown below costing RM2,000+.

I checked market price of second hand Savvy is RM5,000-9,000 in Mudah. Thus, If I can repair the AMT with the cost of RM2,000+, it is still meaningful. Another option is to just sell this car without repair if there is anyone who wants to buy it. As I like this car, I personally want to keep it if it can be repaired.

unlikely ecu/tcu. get an exact trouble code from foreman. else goto proton and ask them to use computer to check.
possibly just a simple fault like pressure leak or the carbon brush worn out.

my savvy manual clutch 104k km , go uphill weak,

when changing every gear , there is a huge delay/lag b4 the power goes up ,

some foreman refuse to do , some refuse to do if i bring part(valeo or smartlion clutch kit) over , meaning he want earn part together

so in the end , he say rm5xx in clude part , he refuse to say exact amount and gst is kira lain

another foreman agree do labour when i bring part over , he say 2xx to 3xx , he also refuse say exact amount,

nowaday the mechanic fear to gv exact amount fearing we can get quote from other

weak = clutch gone.
when facing this type of foremen, just go elsewhere.
check with proton too.. especially before raya. they might have some promo going on like this one

a valeo clutch probably cost you around RM250 to RM350, cheapest is in KL.

labour for changing savvy clutch is expensive, it cost me RM350 as I was told, it will involved a lot of work

Thank you for your advice, we are considering to modify AMT to MT, but will try to reconsider repair of the AMT.

Hi all,

From Kuching, Sarawak here. I need a recommendation on which workshop can repair my savvy. AMT model.

Since last week the gearbox keep blinking on & off then when I stop at traffic light yesterday the gear shift from 1 to neutral. Since then I cant start the car. Also there was no sound of the electric pump running when you open the car door or before ignition.

One of the Proton SC here said its maybe due to the electric motor or the BOM spoiled. All in all he said repair around 4K....which is too much for me. So any guys can recommend a place in Kuching here can do savvy? Maybe install second hand part for the pump & BOM

Appreciate any input.
