hello savvy members.

wanna consult, if I wanna go for 185 55 15 tyres, what should I do to my car?
current set up is 195/45/15
My rear spring is dying despite having those spring buffer.
Absorber, already changed. I try to change at every 5 years.

current mileage is at 160k

Hi guys, Savvy AMT 2006 (mileage 145k) for 6k worth it?
Will be using it for weekend drive only.
*
my take is to avoid it.

I rather you take manual instead of AMT which is a time bomb.

I drove savvy manual for 9 years, never fails before

All cars are time bomb if not service and drive properly.
If you just follow the recommendation on the service book and do inspect your car (by yourself) monthly, then shouldn't have any issue. Just need to monitor the AMT fluid level and change it following the recommendation, then you'll be safe.

I guess so, during the 9 years of ownership, I am proud to say this car had served me well.

I seen numerous friends who own AMT throwing the towel.

Yeah, for cars that have a lot of sensor, we need to do preventive maintenance (replace before it spoiled - not wait until it spoiled)
Once spoiled, you cry la  rclxms.gif

talking about the sensors,
what are the important sensors on this car?

to be frank, I have never really replace them before.

I only change ignition coil set 3 times,
speed sensor once.

a valeo clutch probably cost you around RM250 to RM350, cheapest is in KL.

labour for changing savvy clutch is expensive, it cost me RM350 as I was told, it will involved a lot of work

i am also in the market for used manual savvy as 2nd car. definitely not auto, not that brave to own one. this will be my pergi kerja car, will drive this to construction site office.

any year is no difference? or after certain year very different version already?

what to look out for? can anyone pls list popular problems on savvy manual. e.g. transmission, engine, suspension

thank youu
*
as long you get a manual, you are safe.

with regards to the issues, its better to get your car first then share what problems you face.

mine is a 06, till date, still going good.

Did the handling/ride deteriorate too much after >10years?

Actually my brother owned one. Last time i drove, handling is nice, ' harmonically'tuned to chasis n road.

What about replacement parts price? timing belt replacement cost how much? Air filter price? Oil filter price? Can i say they cost almost similar to local cars'?
*
nope. never

savvy handling is really rclxms.gif
one of the best that I ever encounter before.

I had only a front 4 point strut bar with 195/45/15 tyres, the road handling and corner is really good.
maybe because of its design?

replacement parts are affordable.

timing belt, I'm using gates.
water pump, only change 1 time.
ignition coil, advise to go for original Renault only. I tried the blue coil and the china coil, really not too suitable for me.
Air filter, using a K&N, just service every 10k.

no regret for a small car.
the only complain that I got is too small for a family.. cannot ferry too many passenger, underpowered.
