If I just want to drive to work and cruising around only then rebuilt the whole bike is cheaper than buying new bike but I'm talking about my only transport for at least 8 year and will be constantly travelling out of state  icon_rolleyes.gif That's why I want to upgrade to more comfortable, reliable and powerful bike. With wave I think it would take me 5 hour to reach KL from butterworth  biggrin.gif

KL > butterwirth ...... pakai LC .. tank tak cukup besor. ..... need drop by petrol station always .... buy fz .. tank besor .. but no bakul ...

u need a 250cc above bike baru sedap bawa ....

Even refuel many times would be 3 times only at most so it is acceptable.Big tank=heavy weigh=more fuel consumption.I will also make a couple stop at rest area.Just because the bike can take it doesn't mean i need to push it to limit.

250cc bike is over budget.Usually over RM10000.If i were that rich,i would buy Aprilla RSV4 bike and Porsche car.Imagine reaching 200km/h .Would be DAMM shiok.
*
FZ one tank can reach KL.
Fuel weight is negligible to fuel consumption.
Used ZZR is 6k... If I have money on hand, ZZR vs LC135? Hehe...

But cover cannot tahan. When high speed, the mudguard will start flapping.Create a little noise which distract me sometimes and also make the bike goyang and unstable.Have to glue both mudguard side with a stick to it didn't vibrate

Which ZZR version?.There are 25cc,600cc,1200cc.Second hand is cheap but need to think long term cost.I can even bought the Aprilla 125 but wonder each month how much is maintanance.

unsure.gif Ohh, saya ingat 4 lejang.

Anyway now Yamaha Jupiter mx150 is now out in Indonesia. I think it could be available in Malaysia this year and probably cheaper then FZ150(no basket so no for me). I will wait for this to be available in Malaysia first then will decide Yamaha or Belang. I preferred Belang for now because of its top speed(almost 150) but some say fuel consumption is high so will see. Looks like yamaha 150 is better than 135LC and hope will cost only extra RM1000 from 135LC ES.  rclxm9.gif  rclxm9.gif Yamaha 150.
What you mean?

Will never buy. Price is cheap but any thing broke down will probably cost more that bike itself. Kapchai is enough. Poor man ride cheap bike.

I'm referring to the ZZR250, grandfather to the current Kawa 250R.

The one you post is Aprilia, 2 stroke bike, water cooled with power valve. Maintenance will need expert, not just the price of the parts.

Top speed doesn't mean much, if you plan to upgrade the bikes. My guess is you don't.
Belang has few riding modes that can be changed with a switch located on the handle. Also, it has full length fork. I don't see many on the road, but Suzuki parts is easy to locate.

hi guys! as of today, my ODO already clocked around 9,773km smile.gif so, need to go for 10,000km service very soon brows.gif
so, i need sifu's advice here about parts that need replacement/ atention etc

1. regular maintenance (have been doing this for every 2,000km)
a. change fully synthetic engine oil ( < RM40.00)
b. change oil filter ( < RM12.00)
c. check chain - 'ketatkan & minyakkan'

2. others
a. do i need to change the spark plugs?
my lc don't have problem during cold start in the morning.
only have problem if i didn't start my bike for more than 3 days (have this ever since i got my lc).

about the chain, always 'kendur' after 1,000km of usage sad.gif
do i need to replace it because the mechanic said, the chain is not 'sama panjang' already.
some section it's ok some section a bit 'kendur'. i have never face this problem when using my ex5.
what brand of change i need to go for? do i need to install that chain tensioner?
if later installed, my lc looks no more handsome already sad.gif
please help! biggrin.gif

Just tighten yourself. The mechanic always just use eye and sometimes this affects riding when cornering(for me). Some amateur mechanics also tighten till no chain slack. Never let them tighten my chain anymore.

i don't know how to set the chain by myself, it's free of charge by the workshop plus scared later rear tire alignment 'lari' cry.gif later after got my bonus, might go to mr. diy and buy for me a set of tools and learn how to do it by myself brows.gif
QUOTE(alexei @ Mar 16 2015, 02:42 PM)
Plug normally requires inspection, where you check the gapping and physical condition.
Since it's been 10000 km, suggest you change it. Reasons are, new plug can improve fuel economy due to better spark, and old plug may begin to disintegrate having ceramic tips coming off causing engine damage. Remember ceramic is harder than steel and aluminium, so having such things inside the combustion chamber is a disaster.

thanks for the advice! never know about this seriously. when i was using my ex5, rarely i just open the plug and 'celup' its head into petrol just to 'clean' it. i have been using the same spark plugs like 4 years without problem. it was so easy to start the engine... but this lc, i don't even know how to check the plug by myself because need to open its side cover right? sad.gif
QUOTE(alexei @ Mar 16 2015, 02:42 PM)
For chain and sprocket set, the lifespan depends on care and maintenance. 10000km is pretty good. Compare EX5 and LC, EX5 throttle off acceleration is not as quick as LC, hence the stress to the chain is lower in comparison.

Another option is O-ring chain. They cost around RM180 these days for RK (Japan). Other type chains are like X-ring, Z-ring but they are much more expensive. These chains need special care but they do last very long.

No need the chain tensioner.
wah so mahal, i will just go for the normal chain and change it every 10,000km tongue.gif

yes. quite troublesome as I recalled.
Try look for NGK GP plugs... slightly more expensive but thin electrode. Shorter life than standard copper tip.

babylongreeceAnother thing, Suzuki kapcai bikes like to use center axle fork tubes. Notice the rim shaft and nut is at the center of the fork tube, vs other bikes which is usually offset forward. Mostly for looks but it also causes fork spring to be shorter. Compare the left and the center one...
