i used to have the clear card as well, the first year i spent more than RM1500 within 60 days to get a free luggage bag, then Citibank waived the AF on 1st year anniversary. on the 2nd year, i spent a few hundred only, Citibank refused to waive AF, therefore i cancelled it. The CS asked me to spend RM1500 then only waive AF for me, i did not want so i cancelled it

Same thing for me, called CS to waive the card but was rejected, the CS told me to swipe the card 3 times and call them back to get AF waiver.

Im using Citibank CashBack Platinum, got 28" & 20" luggage bags last years with swipe RM4000.
This year called to waive AF but they approved.

Im thinking they won't let us cancel because we have took their luggage bags, die die make sure continue to use at least few years

file a dispute and submit the letter as evidence. in future, do follow up with any cancellation notice.

Please advice, should I call Citibank before(a month before anniversary)/after they charge me the AF for the waiver?
If they refuse to waive the AF, and I decided to cancel the card on the spot. Do I need to pay for the charged AF?

I too called to get waiver I got two cards platinum n visa cashback
At first cs played the delaying tactic saying I must take their loan or wat
After I was adamant I did not want any of those services and asked to cancel he finally relented and said since I meet the 3 swipes per month or something I qualify for waiver

So I guess since there are many cards out there with similar benefits to citi's
Don't be afraid to threaten to cancel and actually do it.
Nothing much to lose except maybe points

I'm still waiting for my code from Citi (about 3 weeks of using the card now) for the RinggitPlus redemption code.

Have you gotten yours? How long it took you in total?
