for ease of use, I am quite surprise that AV receiver close the gap of those Jriver album art music catalogues.
I am really a vegatable bird in HT system, but I guess that shares the same principle as audiophile when it comes to tweaks.

just to share...

honestly, since there are so many other apps that can give the same thing with some in HD, and kodi is not exactly the fastest or easiest way to get stuff, i have not been using it much in the last year or so.

but thanks to sharing by forummers here, i've been playing with kodi a bit more again. biggrin.gif

there are many old repos, old addons, even obsolete.

i am now satisfied with my current setup. after a quick cleanup, the org.xbmc.kodi folder is 1.2GB.

.. kodi 16.0 jarvis
.. superbox build
.. projectcypher plugin
.. phoenix addon
.. exodus addon
.. bbts addon
.. (all related repos/zips, of course)

there is enough with the above - news, live sports (some in HD), movies, tv shows, int'l live tv incl singapore/indonesia/thailand.

hope it stays good for a while! biggrin.gif

together with a few other android apps, there is more than enough to watch.

Hi how to install the superbox build? Which is easier to download the zip file? From pc then use google drive or straight from browser from box?

And I have problem with projectcypher. Cant add the source. How do you do it?

i think u r very new to kodi, need to try, experiment more, understand how kodi works, how to install stuff.

once u get the hang of it, can follow the steps easily.

superbox - that dwnload, u get it on pc, put on thumbdrive, take to yr box and install within kodi.

projectcypher - these steps will work. sometimes the site is down, so wait, try again.

users of superbox build, projectcypher, adrian supertv...

like i expected, the attacks came very quickly.

skysports HD 1-5, f1 and the other popular sports channels in eng do not work anymore.

only skysports italian and german still work biggrin.gif

Edit... Those in Cypher come and go. Sometimes, they work. biggrin.gif

Those looking for Chinese, Japanese, Korean shows with English subs know azdrama and dramago.

There now 3 more now... Kissasian, drama24H and dramanice. Addons are found either in superrepo or ares repo. Enjoy.

Note when you install superbox build, all of those and more are already there, under Asian TV.

what error? "cannot connect... do u want to put it anyway?"?

if yes, it means site is down, try again tmrw, day after. such sites get attacked all the time.

buffering... occurs all the time with a lot of stuff in kodi - can be traffic congestion, weak links, attacks, throttling... never know.

u just need to find the smoother links, stay with them.

free streams even in SD are never guaranteed.

also, try to use ethernet rather than wifi.

Question from perhaps a Kodi XBMC noobie:

I have found it frustrating to look for and select favourite channels, the user interface is still kind of "techy" for kids and family to use. You have to click inside Video add-ons and go several steps inside the repos and look for a particular live TV channel to play it...

Is there any interface upgrade available out there that makes selecting channels easier? Perhaps give you something similar to the satellite DVR functionality where favourite channels are stacked under each other and you can reach them with a single link or click?

Yes... They are called "Skins" and "customization"... KODI, while a powerful media center, is still a shell. How it operates, depends heavily on what YOU as the user puts in. So mod it as you see fit. Remember, if you break it, you might have to wipe and begin afresh.

Very interesting. Thanks a lot.

Can you recommend any particular skins and mods? Or maybe point me to a place where I can start looking at and learning how to apply them.

you may want to define a bit what u mean by "channel".

if u mean an addon like phoenix or exodus, you can set it as one of the shortcuts in the skin.

you can put a few shortcuts of yr choice in the skin - go to settings/skin/shortcuts.

if you mean one of the selections within an addon, say "movies" or a specific live channel like "BBC News", u can set it as a favorite. depending on what device u r using, it can right mouse click or menu button.

but if u mean a specific link to a specific video, that may not be possible.

Sure, you should start from the KODI Community Forum - Skins Support. Check out the various skins.. Rough count places at about 40 skins available.. See screenshots, features and compatibility issues, etc... Once you've narrowed down to a skin you can live with, then head over to the default KODI repository and install it. The current UI will switch to the chosen one. Taking looks, features and customizations into account, my personal favorites are Aeon Nox, Amber and Bello.. For speed?? The fastest remains the default Confluence.

Note: With great skins comes greater responsibility.. Backups are your friends. The heavier the skin, the more powerful & compatible with KODI, the device must be. Lastly, not all skins can run on all versions of KODI.. Use YouTube videos to your advantage.

I think dramanice doesn't work in asia, i suggest dramago (it even has kamen rider series) for korean or japanese film or series.

On android, go into Settings > Apps > KODI ... CLEAR DATA! KODI will be returned to default state as a new install.

QUOTE(voncrane @ Apr 4 2016, 06:50 PM)
As already suggested... Yes, can return back to normal but quite a hassle.
*Easiest method was if you made a backup prior to installing the build, can clear data and install backup (Clean).
*If without backup, then clear data and reinstall addons and settings from scratch (Cleaner this way).
*Dirty method involves reverting the Skin back to Confluence and then manually sifting through changes and undoing them. Not for the unskilled.

it works. mostly korean romance/soap tv series and some old assorted movies.

of the 5, i think kissasian is the best. some are in 1080.
