himedia q16.

Hi bro, thot u were using the Nvidia Shield.....doesnt that have the Kodi app as well?
Is there a reason for using the himedia instead?

Havent used XBMC for the longest time since support for jailbroken Apple TV2 stopped and a lot of addons were hit & miss.
With Kodi being more stable, may consider getting an android box/Nvidia shield too with so many good tips shared in this forum!

Thanks guys!! thumbup.gif

Yes, the build ships with a variation of the original skin.. Custom menus, links & backgrounds were created.. Mods applied, Addons & repository installed, etc.. If you like the look, you can install the build and still manage addons installations or removal in the future.

thank you for sharing.

this build is, so far, the best i have tried.

just plug it in, it takes over the skin but all that u have before are embedded in it.

i used the "for jarvis 16.0 only" build.

it takes while for it to download and extract. so can go for lunch, it be ready when u return. biggrin.gif

will not spoil it too much but... there is bollywood, popular sports. and sg channel 5 and 8 - first time seeing them.

all in SD, some even worse than 360p. so, probably get selective about what to watch.

enjoy it, before the cat and mouse game begins like it always does for anything good and free. laugh.gif

Sorry for being noob... can you share how to install the build? Will it overwrite the current plugins and default Kodi interface that I have now?

yes, it will "takeover" yr current kodi and whatever u have now.

the skin, display, categorization is different but the good news is all that u have will still be in there as well under "all addons", nothing will be missing.

if u have installed repos/addons via file manager before, not difficult.

(for androids only)... get the zip given by eddyann in post #3788, install it with usb - settings/file manager/install from zip.

then enable it the usual way.

impt to pick the right repo - whether u r are jarvis or not.

it takes a while for it to download and extract, be patient.

impt, do not exit the normal way. need to exit the right way or cut power before exit to force the changes.

lastly... if u know how to back up kodi folders, can easily revert to original if u dun like the build.

all these about kodi... the mother of all apps... takes a while to get used to working with it.

I installed the same build as yours but can't seems to get that skin. Everything else is fine.

[update]
Uninstall and reinstall did the trick. Thanks.

hi, I got Kodi installed on Hiiptv Box, but sometimes when streaming certain movie or live tv, it starts to stutter and without sound.

is it due to internet speed? or cache issue?

how do I fix it? I'm on Unifi30
*
I've no problem with my Kodi installed on HyppTV.the stuttering issues could be network issues. I reccomend u instal Areswizard.

From that program u can manage/clear cache etc..or choose any popular builds e.g. pulse CCM , the beast v1.6 etc..if u r more to live sports, try Pulse CCM
movies, you can try The beast V1.6

I doubt that's possible.. Windows RT is a crippled version of Windows.. Besides, there's no official installation file or instructions available.

i am using NUC -> Yamaha A850 -> TV

when watching movies using KODI, there is no sound. all my sound out is via HDMI. I dint use spdif/optical.

if using VLC Player, I can output audio device to TV which the yamaha A850 receiver will output sound. using KODI, no such device selection.

can I know how to play KODI without using SPDIF ? or SPDIF is a must.

Based on hardware limitations... HDMI > SPDIF.. As for which sounds better, HDMI is the clear winner. However, that's subjective to the listener and chances are the hardware can't output any significant difference while playing the same audio stream over both mediums. While you've got a decent AVR, current hardware is not considered as a "reference" point to an audiophile (they like their toys biggrin.gif)... So aim to get sound via HDMI and only use SPDIF for simplicity sakes or if the former proves difficult.
