The older version of Dash P18 (like the one I just exchanged with my Vigor) uses the Shimano Tiagra RD. I think that should be better than Sora. A new one is less than RM200 and it is compatible with the Sora shifters. If you have budget the Shimano 105 or the Ultegra is also compatible.

Went bike shop ask about Tiagra rd , they told me new Tiagra is 10speed ask me take Sora

sora won't be much of an upgrade. might as well top up for a complete 10spd and lighter group set.
if on tight budget..10spd microshift arsis components + shimano 105 cassette is pretty decent value for the amount of weight saved.

If you just used the Tiagra RD, although capable of 10 speed, it doesn't matter. The indexing of the gearings are on the shifters and distance of the cassette. The RD spacing is just an opening between 2 points. Nothing to stop you using the 10 speed Tiagra RD with a 9 speed shifters. icon_rolleyes.gif

I've just upgraded my Ori Cr3. Anyone interested in FSA Gossamer Single Speed 53T (RM220) and SRAM X7 rear shifter 10speed(Rm100) Do let me know.

Just went for a short ride after a month not riding because of the haze. And the gear shifter went bonkers on me! Aaaarrggghhhhhh!!!!!! Cant shift to a lower gear as soon as i push up the lever, it will automatically drop back to the highest gear. Some latching mechanism inside the lever not working. So i had to hold the lever in place in order to engage lower gears for inclines. Longest 9km ever!

If the shifter mechanism is out, you can actually take out the emergency bike tool (it's better to have one in your pouch) and then loosen the RD allen nut and adjust to an average gear (somewhere in between) and then tighten the cable clamping allen nut. Although it runs on single speed, at least it's not on the highest gear! You are the first person that I encountered with shifter malfunction. Another way is (if your bike tool have a chain breaker function), to break the chain and take the chain out of the RD cage and adjust the chain length to the middle cogs of the cassette and then rejoin the chain back when you change or repaired the shifters. icon_rolleyes.gif

Someone should start a bike workshop for beginners. Some I know can't even repair a puncture!

I can still change gears, just need to keep my thumb on the shifter lever to stay in a given gear.. Anyway i made it home but discovered the bicycle shop to be closed, it was about 7pm then. I'll go and get it rectified by a shop tomorrow.

Yeah, sadly i didnt have any bicycle tool with me. I didnt even know what tool to keep.

This is a good tool to have in your pouch + a spare inner tube.
