QUOTE(ntw @ Apr 19 2014, 03:21 PM) CM.Storm how can i claim warranty for my double-clicking CM Storm Inferno? also when will the CM Storm Alcor arrive and what is the SRP? Hi ntw, you can bring your CM Storm Inferno to the retailer you bought from for RMA As for the CM Storm Alcor, it will be arriving pretty soon (roughly a week from now), still - the SRP is yet to be decided.

QUOTE(ntw @ Apr 21 2014, 11:53 PM) why would u want to get a EOL product? iinm hyper 212x is better than 212evo from what i understand from CM website, the noise lvl is lower for 212 evo (from 9db), also it has continuous direct contact heatpipes while 212x has normal direct contacts.. maybe i could be wrong as never tried it before, can sifu help to enlighten on this?

Fan aside, the difference lies with the aluminum fins. They have X-shaped perforations around the heatpipes. These perforations have a two-fold purpose: the first is to help direct some of the airflow around behind the heatpipes to stop "heat pockets" from forming, the second is to allow for better a better type of airflow.

The thing about the 212X fan brackets or clips is that they have added additional protrusions to fit into to recess of the fan frame. Not a problem if you just use the default Blademaster fan or standard 'square frame' 120mm fans, but its a hassle if you wanna change it 'rubber frame' fans like Jetflo, Cougar Vortex or Corsair SP's. The protrusions actually need to be cut off for these fans to work.
A step back from the EVO clips IMO, they didn't have these.

Both have nearly identical surface. Have tried and tested both, I personally find no difference in terms of the heatpipes surface.
