Mine intermittent cannot detect smart card sad.gif
*

When that message comes out, make sure to see what's the (S) number at the end of the sentence of the error message.

"Please insert the correct Astro smart card with the arrow facing up (S1)"
It means your smart card is not fully inserted

"Please insert the correct Astro smart card with the arrow facing up (S2)"
It means your smart card is fully inserted but not readable. When this happens, try pull out the card, clean off the chip part, then insert it back again.
You can also use an eraser (as in eraser that you used in schools) to erase the chip part, then insert it back again.

If still persists, contact Astro/Njoi to deliver a new smart card to you.
3-5 days to arrive, and it's free, no charges or whatsoever (unless you broke the card or your lost it, then don't say).

"Please insert the correct Astro smart card with the arrow facing up (S14)"
It means you inserted the smart card that is paired with other Astro box. Make sure you insert the only smart card that is paired with that Astro box.

Wah, this question you ask wrong place lol...
You might wanna find some repairman elsewhere to see if they could check for you and see whether can be repair or not.

If you tell Astro, you just pay the money, then they'll give you a new one.

I don't know. You'll have to find it yourself...
Or else, contact Astro again after MCO ends, and they shall arrange technician to your house to solve it.

You're still on Njoi, right? Not the one that upgrade to Astro RM25/month or whatsoever?

What do you want actually? You don't want to pay monthly fees at all? Or you don't mind pay a little monthly fee? Or how?

Then just stick to Njoi then.
You might wanna consider just straight away subscribe as a new Njoi box instead. Yet, you get to enjoy new customer benefits like free preview on certain prepaid channels for X number of days, and also come with free RM30 Njoi prepaid credit which you can use to subscribe to prepaid channels. Do note that Njoi prepaid credit has a validity of 60 days.
You can accumulate it as much as you want, as long you perform a topup at least every 60 days window.
Yeah, it's similar like mobile prepaid plan, except the fact that after 60 days of no topup, all remaining credit will be forfeited to RM0.

Cuz Njoi is a no-monthly-fee service, so their after sales support are likely to be one-time as well, and your one-time is the time when you get your Njoi installed.
The most they give is about 1 year warranty. After that 1 year, you sendiri punya pasal already.

joshhd sifu, checking with you, how's the astro/njoi audio quality? I'm using njoi connecting to my stereo integrated amplifier for leisure radio listening. Hard to describe, i feel it lacking a bit of dynamics, seems to be a bit of recessed compare to the sound from built-in fm receiver micro hi-fi, maybe they applied some sort of compression? just wondering...

Yes you are right.

Channel qualityVideo codecStereo audio trackDolby 5.1 audio track
SDMPEG-2192kbps MP2 Stereo/Mono Never
HDAVC (H.264), or MPEG-464kbps HE-AAC Stereo 384/448kbps AC3 (Dolby Digital)
4K UHDHEVC (H.265) N/A 224-256kbps E-AC3 (Dolby Digital Plus)

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Astro still uses MP2 audio codec for the sake of compatibility for legacy Astro boxes (yes, the very old "blue colour software" one, it's still working till today).

To enjoy the best audio quality possible, press home>Settings>Digital Audio, and change the Audio Output to "Dolby Digital 5.1 (Digital only)"

If don't have, means don't have...
Not every channel is available on Astro Go due to content/platform rights and agreement.

A little help would be much appreciated. Any active NJOI users here, can you guys list out all channels that actually available on the platform?

Cause I noticed some channels (e.g. tvN Movies) are missing on the NJOI New Channel Listing PDF, but somewhat available on NJOI box. Another would be some channels listed on PDF are labeled as in HD, but in reality it's in SD via STB. Its own website also has incomplete channel listing after all thru TV Guide. And since a bunch of new NJOI Prepaid channels launched, so yeah.

Also, who knows, consider registering NJOI in near future?

Especially HISTORY, Eurosport, WWE Network. Are they really in HD? Cause I watched these videos, it's in SD quality.

What you see in the videos, is the actual channel list.
Not every prepaid channels on Njoi is offered in HD.

In this case, History, Eurosport and WWE Network is offered only in SD on Njoi.

Btw are you an existing Astro subscriber? If yes, what are the packages you subscribed to?

For NJOI, the credit inside expires damn fast, meaning if you dun use it to buy channels, it will be gone. Damn irritating.

Of cos lorr... Otherwise how they earn money, if you topup once and that credit validity lasts very long?
Astro/Njoi's target customer is more towards those who willing to pay lots of money one. They don't do "low cost" kind of business.

If you wanna extend the credit validity, just topup any amount to extend another 60 days.
