NJOI Prabayar Step-by-step Guide

Purchasing a reload card
Get a reload card from any of the participating dealers on this list or according to some of our forumers, you can also get it from the sellers in our forum's Garage Sales section

Checking balance
1. If you can't remember how much balance you have in your account, you should check the balance first before getting the prepaid card.

2. Get either your IC number or your smart card number:

2. Take out your phone and SMS "000<space><your IC number / smart card number>" to 33310
*note that you do not need to include the hyphens or spaces in your IC or smart card numbers
- Example 1 (IC): 000 821012146815
- Example 2 (smart card #): 000 014000609999
Attached Image

3. You'll receive a SMS informing you about your balance. You can see that my balance is RM0 since I've never topped up before tongue.gif

Topping up
1. Scratch the Prabayar card to get the 16-digit reload PIN

2. SMS "111<space><your IC number / smart card number><space><reload PIN>" to 33310
*note that you do not need to include the hyphens or spaces in your IC or smart card numbers

3. You'll get a confirmation message once your reload is successful.

Subscribing to a channel
1. If you try to tune in to a Prabayar channel without first subscribing to it, you'll get an error message stating that the channel is not in your subscription. However, since you can purchase channels via NJOI's Service Portal and SMS by yourself, you do not need to contact their customer service.

2. Tune in to channel 200 to access the Astro Service Portal (ASP). Don't worry if you get greeted by a black screen as you might need to wait a while for it to load.

3. You'll see the interface shown below once it has done loading. Navigate to Prepaid TV Channels with the directional buttons your Astro remote and hit the OK button.
Attached Image

4. Then select the channel that you wish to subscribe and hit the OK button again
Attached Image

5. You'll then be asked to confirm your order and be shown instructions on how to proceed with the subscription of the channel
Attached Image

6. Reach for your phone again and follow the exact instructions shown at the order confirmation screen by sending the SMS "NJM<space><code><space><code><space><code>" to 33888
* note that the number (33888) that you should send the SMS to is different than the number (33310) that is used for topping up and checking balance.

7. Wait for the confirmation SMS. After that you can finally watch the channel which you've just subscribed to rclxm9.gif

Thanks se7en,

I also got the news from that link smile.gif

But still it doesn't explain about any registration fess except that our decoder box must be in good condition.

Normal NJOI have to pay nearly RM400 to activate because new customer have to purchase the decoder box. If this is REALLY free, that why not.

Really? So no hd? It's ok I disconnected before beyond. Still have a CRT TV 21 inch somewhere.

Gonna use this NJOI for living room... hahaha... guest to my house watch old tv... on free channels only. If I put hyppTV downstairs... I'm afraid viitors won't wanna go home because of the sports channel.

BTW nobody from Astro call me back on reactivation. How long did it take for you? I totally forgot about NJOI and applied last Tuesday the 11th.

within 24 hours mine got reactivated, got 1 missed call but it was handphone number so i'm not sure if it's from astro?
btw, my decoder won't auto refresh the channel so i keep getting the "smart card not useable" sort of message. it was until i go manually download the channel list from satellite signal menu only those channels come alive.

Is there any significant differences in PQ if using component instead composite?

Yes i saw there's improvement on coloring when switch to component, especially the movement on channel selection bar inside the OK menu.
however, the pixel grain was noticeable on component, probably on composite the coloring was bad so it looks smoother abit.

Ok happy to report this.

You will first get an email from Astro giving you your new account number and some instruction to purchase the prepaid cards... blablabla..

Reconnect everything and then redownload the channels.

You might also need to restart the box and voila everything works.

Free Astro NJOI, for now. If they start chargin then I'll just disconnect again.

Good luck!
