Hello. Stupid question.
For me to enjoy Astro Njoi, is it compulsory to have the satellite dish? I live in a rented place and don't want to damage the place.
Ask your owner of the rented place to see if he/she allow you to install a satellite dish permanently on a wall.
I do wonder, how could Astro/Njoi satellite dish can "damage" your rented place?

Or you can install the dish somewhere hidden from easily being seen from view.
Just in case you don't know how satellite TV works, you can't install the dish indoors/inside your room/house cuz you won't get a signal at all.
Place it wherever you want, even on the floor, as long it has line of sight to the sky (facing west).
You plan to stay that rented place for a very long time? Is Njoi really a need?
If you insist, there is a way...

You may ask the installer (provided if he don't mind too) to install the satellite dish on a "speaker/tripod stand", like this:

Officially, Astro don't condone such installation setup, because if you move the dish a little bit to a wrong position, you might lose signal entirely. So do it at your own risk.
And when you need Astro technician to send help later on, they'll charge you RM65 technical service fee.
Unless you know how to align the satellite dish on your own, then it's fine. You can learn on how to align satellite dish from YouTube videos.
Or, you can let the installer install/activate Njoi box and satellite dish at "somewhere temporary", then once the installer left your rented place, then you know la what to do... (dismantle the dish, and place/install it elsewhere that you want it to have satellite reception).
Do it at your own risk ah. Don't blame if things go wrong.
Too complicated? Just stream your shows online, or go for digital TV myFreeview.
