QUOTE(dares @ Jan 16 2014, 02:12 AM) If you're being pragmatic, dun care apa-apa cerita kroni ke handouts ke, Proton is still cheap to buy and cheap to run....as a bonus they are also safe (The Preve and Suprima la). Waiting Suprima equipped with Manual transmission..Having owned an affordable ford, driven several Perodua cars extensively as well as a Toyota Vios P42, I have no problem buying another Proton. This is not because Protons are good, but because it makes financial sense. Will think again cuz i luv veeyos TRD... |

QUOTE(wanfauzan @ Jan 16 2014, 12:02 AM) True also, some said Honda cvt better than proton. Anyway so far i love proton cvt. The whining sound make me feel like taking off an airbus sometime. Hehe. BLM using 4 Speed A/T like Vios ma. That's why is a good thing. Drove crv just now and i miss my cvt already. Your BLM no cvt ma. This is not because Protons are good, but because it makes financial sense. Proton can be a good car, just the quality is just not there. If only they take QC seriously for Malaysia's Market. Then proton is worth buying for those who wants to at least have a car to drive since is affordable even though the price is actually high for a local car. That's why I only mentioned, if people have a choice, they won't go for proton. If Financial is great, and if people could afford a Jaguar, Audi, BMW, Range Rover and etcs, they won't get a proton. The only fact that, there are lots of proton and perodua on the road is because is the cheapest brand to own. Thanks to the sky high tax on imported cars like Honda, Toyota and etcs. Remove the tax on imported cars and compete fairly. I think Proton would already be long gone. P2 might survive since is still a Daihatsu/Toyota and their cars quality is better. No matter what, the only proton that I love so far. Is the Proton Satria Neo R3. |

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Jan 16 2014, 02:32 AM) i think it kinda depends on how you define choice; Because if i get to choose, without any regards of criteria, i'd kinda want a GTR, or something more "realistic"/reachable, a shiberu. At least you have a Lancer but of course neither cars make financial sense at all to me. and when you throw in a buncha criterias, your choices further narrows down to well, nothing. Most of us only Gaga... |

QUOTE(2JayZ @ Jan 16 2014, 09:35 AM) BLM using 4 Speed A/T like Vios ma. That's why is a good thing. well,if u r talking on pre 2005,yes those imports had hefty tax bracket. but nowadays,at the same cubic capacity, yup, tax here based on that, the diff is around 30% of cif. its not on the total sale price.Proton can be a good car, just the quality is just not there. If only they take QC seriously for Malaysia's Market. Then proton is worth buying for those who wants to at least have a car to drive since is affordable even though the price is actually high for a local car. No matter what, the only proton that I love so far. Is the Proton Satria Neo R3. if u know the cif,the 30% of those imports aka cbu from non mfn is just around 10k the diff the max at the same cc as prtn. many things taken into account cnsidering final price of the car including distribution cost, marketing cost n even assembling cost(normally hidden to get low tax charge, and added it back under distribution cost)n last but not least distributor profit. dont be cnfius it with manufacturer profit coz manucturer profit included in cif price. if wanna compare cars from thailand or indo, one need to know how tax being work out there. for example, those cars like almera, mirage, attrage, brio that use 1.2l based engine, they get lower tax bracket compare to others, which normally around 60% of cif. to blame umw or sime 100% on the ommision of safety equipments also unfair coz around asean, those cars also being sold with minimum safety equipments,n umw n sime didnt even involve in. only the part of blame is hefty distribution profit they charge. but we can raise our cncern on media n etc especially the owners like what we had done to prtn. but the problem is now,the voice raised up by non owners, which when they make a market survey,it just bcome a small portion that will affect the decision. thats why u always heard in the media they mentioned that according to the market, they dont demand more than 2 airbags, vsc n |

and if u r talking bout toyota, hnda, specifically vios, city n even jazz, they r fall under the same tax bracket as prtn n p2. for jazz, the dont adjust the price accordingly previously, only recently by ckding, according to last nap,by ckd the car,the car cmpany will get some kind of rebate on company tax,not car tax unless cbu non mfn.
thats why city n jazz price is kinda ridicule currently. but who knows they will adjust it for the new city. unless, they still want to enjoy high profit due to its popularity. thats why recent prtn in thailand is expensive compare in malaysia even with lower tax bracket in thailand due to distribution cost, marketing cost n distributor profit. non of this foreign distributor just want a profit margin of 5k percar, when the car isnt that easy to sell. :-)but on weakness of prtn,i have to admit that. but they r working towards its. no car manufacturer want their customer to flock away. its business after all. |
