QUOTE(xngjn @ Mar 17 2015, 03:14 PM) I got a one time off project (around 20k). I still a student. do I need to fill income tax? As a part time job I dont have epf all those and no EA form those with monthly salary of rm4k++ must start filing the incometax. (~rm4k x 12month = RM48k per year).(reference : http://e-cukai.com/2015-lhdn-income-tax-rate/# ). Since your income in just around 20K... still not reaching 48k within that year, then, you don't need to file the income tax. |

One question. I am on a long term contract basis and the company provide me no EA form or whatsoever. How should I calculate my taxable income? Should I :-
1) Add basic + OT? 2) Add basic + OT - EPF? 3) Petrol allowance taxable? 4) Annual leave reimbursement taxable? Thanks! |

QUOTE(David83 @ Mar 18 2015, 03:18 AM) Taxable income from employment: Gross pay + OT + fixed taxable income + taxable tangible and intangible benefits Thanks for the input however as i am on the 'long term contract' basis, the company is not doing the MTD/PCB for me and is not going to provide me EA form either. So i'll be doing this on my own. When you mentioned gross pay does that mean basic + OT but not subtracting EPF? IE: 1000 basic + 300 OT = 1300?Basically the sum value of Section B Non-taxable benefits are declared under Section G of BIK. Appreciated.. |

You'll put your EPF deduction at the lower section of the BE form. Appreciated.. This EPF relief is shared with life insurance policy up to RM 6000 max. If my annual income for 2014 is less than 36k, I technically do not need to file for income tax this year? Can I still claim for tax exemption (books, EPF, etc) if my income didn't exceed 36k per annum?
I've filed previous years when income exceeds 36k. |

Tax payers may pay their income tax and real property gain tax (RPGT) at https://byrhasil.hasil.gov.my/creditcard/ using credit card.
All VISA, Mastercard and American Express credit cards issued in Malaysia can be used for this service. Any one try this? |

I've filed previous years when income exceeds 36k. If you don't need to pay income tax (your income tax is RM0), what's the point of of filing tax exemption? There's no tax to be exempted/reduced in the first place. (Do you want to make your income tax becomes negative so government pay you money instead? |

Unless you are telling that your salary won't increase over the years.I've filed previous years when income exceeds 36k. This is more on preventing you on getting audited for no reason next time |

It will be good for you to declare your income in order to you to secure your loans from bank. For employed under BE form, the process of declaration take less than 10 mins. Why fret over such a simple task ? |

In your case, after you fill up the form or e-filing, the auto calculation will show you no taxable amount.I've filed previous years when income exceeds 36k. So, you submit, and then print/softcopy and keep for 7 years. In this way, every year you have submission and record tracking. |

I thought we no longer need to submit e-filing if we agree with the amount of PCB we have paid ?
