Is there any perceptible difference between IRR of 85 and 75?
The price difference between the two packages is about RM500 for Raytech.

QUOTE(ayamxxx @ Feb 22 2023, 09:13 AM) wanna give my 2 cents, going by logic, if wrong, i will edit/remove lets assume the numbers are correct, then there may be few possibilities: 1. the high IRR applies only to a narrow range within the infrared spectrum, the other IR spectrum may have weak rejection, therefore TSER is lower than expected. 2. high IRR covers wide range of infrared spectrum, but rejection of other heat components of "light" is weak, as TSER includes UV, visible light and infrared (and all of these cause heat too), therefore TSER is lower than expected. 3. IRR is high, if the film is absorptive type, most of the IR is absorbed, over a period of time, there is a cumulative of heat energy from prolonged intense IR absorption that film became a secondary source of heat, therefore TSER is lower than expected. anyone heard about V-Zion tint? Recently my friend buy Kia Carnival which has an original tint (brand name V-Zion). He wanted to darken the tint for rear windows and rear windscreen to avoid prying eye on the car boot, and was offered 2 choice:
1) V-Zion, add-on darken layer, to VLT 20% (for rear windscreen, and rear windows), warranty 5 years. 2) Raytech, add-on darken layer on existing V-Zion tint, VLT 20% (for rear windscreen, and rear windows), warranty only 3 years. Any comments of which choice to take? Price about the same but Raytech have more IRR/TSER data showed in their website. V-Zion has limited info. Is it ok to darken the windows & rear windscreen to VLT 20% and not affecting visibility at night? The front windscreen and driver/front passenger tint will remain original tint (VLT 70%). |

QUOTE(j88j @ Feb 25 2023, 04:01 PM) Used rhinepro for almost 4 years. Cheap (got mine done for less than 1k) Pros: Good heat rejection, felt really cooling My shop got quite good workmanship, no bubbles up till now Cheap Cons: The 70vlt had a blue tint that i didn't like. Obstruct visibility during rain. I went back to shop, they say they never had anyone complain this issue. But nevertheless willing to redo for me. Since they say tint no issue, i also dun doubt them, i jz retint to 50%vlt (since all other windows are fine.) Not jpj compliant but ok la, better than poor visibility during rain (strong light dispersion) Color fade really quickly. Mine is almost illegal type of dark esp at night. In 2 years, faded a lot. In 4 years, almost completely gone d Heat rejection also will decrease, but not by alot. Maybe about 20-30% after 4 years. j88j and Angry Clerk liked this post
